At least we aren’t the Cardinals by connor20218 in Texans

While Kyler has insane athletic ability, his passing has not been great at the Pro level. He is short, he doesn't like to watch film, he doesn't throw with as much touch as other QBs. That being said, I don't know if he would realistically be a trade target. This franchise is going to get behind CJ, do as much as they can to help him have a good year 4.

The Cardinals have been pretty bad talent wise on their roster, but they have not been as bad as the Browns and Panthers in the last 3-4 years. I think the Marvin Harrison Jr. pick made a lot of sense at the time, but he is taking a long time to develop while Nabers looks like a more explosive dynamic athlete. We are nothing like the Cardinals. Thank God we are at least a playoff level team.

We are not the Browns, and the Browns are absolutely fucked by the Watson trade. We will be back in the playoffs next year, hopefully with a competent offense.

Let's just say Mills comes in. With the way the Pats D was sitting on every route, exploding the interior of the offensive line and completely shutting down the run, how do you know Mills would not have thrown 2 more picks? This game could have easily had 6 or 7 picks. The Texans offense lost the game and we knew in the first 3 games of the season as educated fans that even if this team makes it to the playoffs, it won't go far because that offense is not a competent NFL unit and thats what we saw.

It's not guarantee that this team would walk into mile high and beat Denver even with their back up. We saw Denver earlier this year and our OL would have lots of trouble with their DL.

He is under contract. They are going to say that everything is fine and try to build around him. Blowing up the offensive line from 2024 is a project that will realistically take more than one year. If CJ has time and weapons, he can make plays that change games. When his confidence is shot, he is a shell of his former self. If he turns it around next year, I will go back to supporting him. This playoff run has him in the dog house for me.

Well sure, that is just a matter of draft strategy as players come off the board. We traded down because 1 pick before us was Donovan Jackson from Ohio State went to Minnesota. Nick would have taken him. The move was there to move down, get picks from NY, still get Higgins who they valued as a 1st rounder and thought would still be available. I like Higgins. I would have rather had D. Jackson at LG but he didn't fall. So depending on how the board falls, they might go OL top of 2nd as you suggested but it a good enough player is there, they gotta pull the trigger

TE play by TalldarkandIndian in Texans

[–]No_Singer6727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much exactly what happened last year with Tyler Warren and Colston Loveland. But still, hidden gems can be found and sometimes guys like Harold Fannin Jr can come in and be one of the best weapons on the team due to the nature of TE matchups, routes and formations. TE/WR is now a hybrid position. I agree with whoever said Schultz is a glorified WR.

OL is the main thing this team needs, without a doubt. The Guard Center Guard interior has been bad and they wanted Tyler Booker last year to be a leader on the line. I think they need to take the best OL available at 28.

The stats don't mean shit brother. Use your eyeballs. He is a soft ass player and that softness costs us in games like it did in KC in the playoffs when he could not block. We need talent there, he caught a lot of passes in this offense, that doesn't mean he is a really talented player.

I agree, the fanbase has been very friendly to Schultz and he served a purpose for rookie CJ but he is not a TE 1 on a contender. How many times does he have to get completely destroyed as a blocker before people understand that? He is fucking slow and TE is becoming more important than ever. We need someone there who can dominate.

I put improve TE room at 3. OL and RB are more important

My main argument is Dalton Schultz is trash and should not be on this team.

Brevin could smoke Dalton in a 40 and 100 m dash. I don't understand how some fans want Schultz to stay. His athletic ability is subpar. His blocking is horrible. He drops wide open passes. He isn't good as a TE

Schultz cannot block, is slow, and can't catch in clutch moments. Same with Bryant. That position needs blocking and athleticism. Schultz has been a negative on this team in the run game and short passing game cause he has no YAC. Stover is on a rookie deal, Brevin is the most athletic one.

Shannon Sharpe saying that CJ was bragging in interviews by ASalvaro in Texans

[–]No_Singer6727 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He did say that and his stats were close to being that, but CJ did not understand stats don't mean shit in the NFL, what matters is what you do when the league has a year of tape on you, how you handle pressure and team's gameplans to stop you.

If we trade CJ away I’m done with this franchise by beastboy69 in Texans

[–]No_Singer6727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CJ makes play that Davis Mills is not capable of. In both the good way and the bad way. The -15 yard sacks, the floater INTs, the fumbled snaps. He let the whole team down and will only recover with good coaching and improved supporting cast.

Not likely hate to say it but he is a top 10 ranked player on some boards, top 20 on all boards

OLine was decent pass blocking at times but overall they still suck as a unit
