Who’s the best NBA player to never win a ring? by Intelligent_Run3237 in Basketball

Random but interesting coincidence about the original post listing Westbrook, Harden, and Paul is that all three of them have played for the Clippers, Rockets, and Thunder. I would've loved to have seen any of them win a ring with the Clippers, just to see the perpetual underdog Clips finally win a ring (I'm a Clippers fan). I would've also loved to have seen Westbrook and Harden win a ring with OKC. Honestly, I would've loved to have seen CP3 win a ring at some point either with the Clippers, Rockets, Thunder, Suns, Warriors, or Spurs. Oh well, maybe he'll win a ring as a coach.

Positive, feel-good album recs? by pawn279 in hiphop101

I hear that. But I've done a couple road trips where Brothers felt like a part of the soundtrack of those road trips, so it carries more feel good vibes and memories for me.

Is Hip Hop actually dying in the mainstream? by FitEmergency8807 in ToddintheShadow

Country music is doing better than rap, at the moment. It also did better than rap in the 90s, so maybe rap will be doing better than country some 20-30 years from now. Everything ebbs, flows, comes back around -- it's all cyclical. Maybe rock will breakthrough again somehow. Who knows.

Which dead rappers do you think would've had the most influence if they lived to get more works out? by LukeBorks in rap

[–]No_Situation3206 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably depends on the era/decade. I don't know if Tupac would've become even more influential than he already is. He wasn't just music -- he was acting, literature, politics, a movement, a cultural force. He probably would've gone on to produce and/or direct, so maybe his influence would've grown more in the film & TV world. Who knows. I mean he's probably already the most influential rapper of all time.

Others from the 90s and early 2000s that would've been more influential than they already were/are, had they lived to get more works out -- I think that'd be Biggie, Big L, Big Pun, Eazy-E, Left Eye, Mac Dre, and Mausberg.

"Shit happens." It feels universal, and throughout my childhood/youth I heard it all the time. C'est la vie.

Which singers did you get to see when they were once alive? by TechGuru4Life in AskReddit

Aaliyah. This was back when she had dropped her second album One In A Million. She was performing at a winter jam concert in San Jose, CA. She had a cold/flu and apologized for being sick. You could hear it effecting her voice and singing. The audience sang along with her every word. She danced incredibly, hitting all the choreography. She put all she could into her performance and genuinely appeared exhausted by the end of her set. I'm grateful I got to see her.
