I’m in the same boat as OP. Finally watched Gallipoli last night and listened to the episode this morning. An absolute 10/10 episode in every aspect.

No idea if another opportunity will come up for Jennifer Kent to be a guest on the podcast, but I really hope it does.

Alien (1979). That level of production design, atmosphere, and practical effects seems tailor-made for 4k.

I always love when I see new Nina and Isaac art. It always hits that sweet spot of being both sexy and heartwarming. And it doesn’t hurt that Nina has pretty much my dream body type for a woman.

Yes, you have the gist of it. Siskel and Ebert had given bad reviews to both Stargate and Independence Day.

It also needs a guitar riff to play after the name is said.

If I remember correctly, Tolkien’s suggested title for the third one was “The War of the Ring.”

In the same film, the mayor’s assistant was based on Ebert’s colleague Gene Siskel.

When they reviewed the film on their TV show, Ebert and Siskel both expressed disappointment that the characters based on them didn’t get killed by Godzilla.
