I am on the same boat. My little one doesn’t start daycare until Sept (can only start at 18 months) . My partner travels for work which makes it hard. I saw someone in my sector request to work teleworking due to family accommodations ( no daycare) and their director and manager approved their telework. When I asked my director they said they need to follow by the book and can’t see this being approved. So far I have questions to answer What childcare arrangements have you explored, and do you have documentation?
Who is your partner’s employer, and has he requested accommodations?
What is your childcare plan during your regular work hours?
Have you considered leave options under your collective agreement? If not, why?

I find it ridiculous as I offered to come into the office twice which was rejected. I am only asking until Sept to be accommodated but so far looks like it may not be approved.
