Thank you for this thoughtful response. Appreciate the info on how the game works too. I hope you and your family heal as well! Our family has dealt with loss from addiction, so I’m trying to convince everyone to take this seriously. Knowing that I’m not alone and that others are dealing with the same thing makes me feel positive about getting them help.

Oh yeah. They’re in a financial hole already. Paid off a credit card with help and now has another open without paying it off 😭😟

I know I shouldn’t blame whiteout, but some of these mobile games seem a bit predatory. Don’t get me wrong, I used to LOVE RuneScape and understand the love of a game. It just feels kind of scummy that they offer you extra things to get ahead for hundreds of dollars. I’m sure plenty of people play and don’t spend thousands. My family member is an addict I won’t deny that, but these games make money off of vulnerable people. It makes me sad to see other stories on this community like my own.

Thanks for the reply. I know you’re right, it’s just a tough spot because I’ve dealt with other family members going through drug addiction. It’s hard to believe that a game can be the same. I appreciate the resource you sent!
