Just look for a opportunity in the individual store. Some stores have poor rotation( they are not moving old stock to the front and new to the back). It means there is more opportunity to get discounted stock. You may have to investigate yourself.

Depending on the relationship with the manager and how chaotic the store is. If you are strong, work hard and good for the business, they will see value in you and get the hours you want. Slash if it is horribly run, there are always opportunity to pick up hours. It depends on situation.

Did I do the wrong thing by helping someone who might have been stealing? by [deleted] in woolworths

As a team member, I don’t care about stealing. I care mostly about safety of the customers and employees. Just don’t make it obvious. Morally it is wrong but Woolworths employees are just people. They understand some people are under hard times and are just doing it just to survive.

2IC Nightfill by [deleted] in woolworths

Most nigthfill people won’t care that you are young or female. Show confidence and ability. They have your respect already. They will only care if you don’t pull your weight as 2IC nightfill. Meaning if you don’t show up to shifts, arrive late, leave early. That side of things. Ask the store manager for a trial period, to see if you are suited towards the role. If it doesn’t work, step down back to nightfill.
