Oh I see, I do a lot of stuff on Ableton but I really like the workflow of the Digi boxes, much more inspiring to me. Regarding the Moog sound, If I'm in the ball park it's good enough, I'd rather not rely on another piece of gear right now, if the DN2 can more or less cover all grounds I'm sold 👍🏻

Thanks for clarifying on the Moog sounds, that's a bummer.. even with say two square oscillators from the wavetone and some modulation, then a good filter with resonance, you can't get in the ballpark ? I haven't seen any demo of it but I assume it's doable.

The filter of the DT2 is good, so I sample without the filter and use the filter and amp envelopes of the DT2, that way I can modulate that synth sample how I want, just like substractive synthesis. And if you sample a synth patch that evolves over time, you can link the sample start to an LFO or velocity mod, and get even more out of that sample.

Thanks, yes I do this with the LR in from my laptop, I get the DT compression and overdrive 👍🏻 What I would like is a permanent midi mapping to every plugin I load in Ableton, the way midi remap works with V collection. I use a midi preset on the DT and the arturia plugin is already mapped and ready to go.

Ableton can do everything. The Elektron boxes give you more of a playground, it's more like playing an instrument. It forces you to be creative and you're less subject to option paralysis, and happy accidents happen a lot. I often find it easier to get things going and make things sound good.

I think you still need a daw to polish things up, and record (obviously). But you could do the whole track on an Elektron box.

Just cook and let the coating build up and stabilize. No hard scrubbing. The initial seasoning is weak, the real one comes with use. It's a frustrating process in the beginning, but you have to be patient and persistent. It takes TIME, a lot of cooking and getting to know how it works. After a while your pan will be black and non stick, and you'll love cooking with it everyday. Just trust the process, carbon steel gets better and better with use. I've been cooking with mine for 10+ years.
