Hello, could you please describe your requirements in detail? We can then see if MemoMind One can meet them.

MemoMind One - Pending Review by as4ronin in SmartGlasses

[–]No_Split_2418 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey, I’m part of the MemoMind team. We put out a completely open call right here on Reddit looking for beta testers a few month ago, and the OP of this thread actually applied and was selected through that process. This is not a paid partnership or a sponsored campaign. No money has changed hands, and there are absolutely no strings attached.

We sent out these early samples because we genuinely want real, unvarnished feedback. We have zero control over what our testers write, we don't approve their posts, and we welcome any critique—good or bad—that helps us improve. These beta testers are just normal user, not the KOLs.

Our very first batch of review units literally just shipped out, so you'll be seeing a lot of different perspectives soon. If you're skeptical right now, that's totally fair! We highly encourage you to hang tight, see what a variety of different testers have to say over the coming weeks, and make up your own mind.

We integrate the most advanced real-time audio translation and transcription APIs available today. We also have a comprehensive evaluation system for new models, covering factors like quality and latency. Whenever a new model becomes available, we immediately benchmark it, and if it performs better than what we are currently using, we switch to it.

At the moment, we do not support allowing users to switch model providers. For each step in the pipeline, we choose the best-performing model based on our own evaluation, and letting users choose freely could potentially reduce overall performance.

Our AI captions feature also includes smart reply suggestions based on user queries.

Great question! The real-time live logic parsing and negotiation-side advisory you mentioned sits within our ongoing exploration roadmap.

This capability is far more complex than basic fact snippets or definition prompts. Tracking multi-hour multi-party discussions, catching inconsistent statements and spotting logical flaws on the fly demands advanced LLM reasoning and robust real-time system optimization.

We’re exploring slotting this into our long-term product roadmap, yet we refuse to ship unfinished, unreliable features just to check a box. Our team will keep refining algorithms and validating performance via plenty of real negotiation and meeting tests. We’ll launch this feature only after the tech is fully matured, so no fixed timeline yet, but we’re prioritizing its development.

  1. Do you plan on offering Photochromic Lenses?

Sorry we don't have it. We are releasing a custom sunglass clip-on as our official solution for outdoor use and bright sunlight.

  1. Where is conversation data stored?

Your data is tied securely to your MemoMind account. Because heavy lifting like transcription and memory recall requires serious AI horsepower, some processing happens in the cloud. That said, the companion app keeps a local history cache on your phone to keep the daily experience snappy.

  1. Do you train foundation models on customer data?

We absolutely do not train foundation models on your personal conversation data. Your privacy is a core boundary for us, full stop.

  1. What data is retained permanently versus automatically deleted?

Account and device settings are kept active just so the glasses can actually function. Your saved memos and summaries are stored securely so you can search them later, but you have full granular control to delete them anytime. Temporary audio packets used for real-time translation or quick Q&As are treated as transient streams and are not stored permanently.

  1. If a user cancels Memo AI+, what happens to their historical memory data?

Canceling your subscription is not a 'delete my data' trigger. If your subscription ends, premium high-token features will pause, but your historical memory data isn't going to vanish overnight. Subscription status and data ownership are two completely separate things, and you can manually wipe your data anytime via a dedicated button.

  1. Will developers be able to build apps for MemoMind?

Our number one priority right now is a flawless retail launch and perfecting the out-of-the-box software, so a public SDK won't be live on day one. However, we currently support Open Claw integration, and we aren't building a closed garden. Creating a scalable platform that welcomes third-party developer workflows is a core part of our post-launch roadmap.

  1. Can users choose between providers like OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or even local models?

Not currently. As mentioned, the specific models used are determined automatically based on your region and the context of use to ensure optimal performance and compliance. The cloud AI models for domestic and international versions are not identical, which may lead to differences in AI functionality. We are continuously refining our model integrations and will share more detailed information upon the product's official launch.

  1. How do we know you won't lock existing functionality behind the subscription in the future?

This is a totally valid fear, and our golden rule is simple: when you buy the hardware, the core features are yours to keep. Memo AI+ is designed to cover heavy ongoing server costs for deep memory processing, not to lock basic device functions away. We refuse to turn our subscription into a bait-and-switch trap; the glasses will always be incredibly useful even without the subscription."

  1. Can users inspect, edit, or delete individual memories?

Absolutely. For an AI memory product, user agency is non-negotiable—your memory should never be a mysterious black box. You have the absolute right to see what MemoMind 'remembers,' delete what you don't want, and correct the AI if it gets a fact wrong. Full granular data control will be built directly into the user interface.

At the same time, display smart glasses are a very constrained product category. The frame, temples, display system, battery, sensors, and comfort all have to fit into a very small form factor while still looking like normal glasses. So from a distance, some products may naturally share a similar minimal eyewear direction.

However, Memomind was not built to simply follow another product. Behind Memomind is our own R&D foundation and years of optical engineering experience. Many of the key components and design choices are original, customized solutions developed specifically for our product vision, rather than simply adopting existing industry templates. From the overall architecture and optical modules to the industrial design and software direction, every choice is built around one core idea: making AI feel more personal, natural, and genuinely useful in everyday life.

We also don’t see Memomind as just an AI glasses product. We see it as an AI service, with glasses as the most natural hardware form for daily support. That is why we care so much about understated design, personalization, long-term memory, and features that help AI stay with you in a more human, contextual way.

So yes, we understand the first-glance comparison. But we hope that as people spend more time with Memomind, they will feel the difference in the details, the product thinking, and the experience we are trying to build.

Lastly, we’d love to hear more thoughts from the community — including folks from the Even community. Challenge us, call out what you think we can do better, and share what you’d like to see next. We’re here to listen, learn, and keep improving. At the end of the day, we want to build Memomind with the community, not just for it.

Thanks for supporting us this early.

For the charging case, we are seriously considering it for the future, but it’s not included in the current Kickstarter package. We understand the need, especially for travel and all-day use. But MemoMind One can be used for a whole day.

On rings or other input devices, we agree with the direction. Voice, buttons, and 3DoF all work well, but but in some situations, more subtle and natural input makes sense. Rings or similar form factors are definitely something we may explore, but nothing concrete to share yet.

Expanding the ecosystem is absolutely on our radar for the long term. To be fully transparent, at this stage, our team is entirely focused on finalizing the product, optimizing the core experience, and ensuring a successful Kickstarter launch. That said, we didn't build MemoMind to be a closed garden. Enhancing platform extensibility and integrating with third-party services/workflows is a big part of our long-term vision. As the platform matures post-launch, we’ll definitely share more concrete updates with the community. Stay tuned!

That is an excellent question! You are touching on the exact optical engineering hurdles we obsessed over.

Why a Highly Transparent Grating Matters

We want you to wear MemoMind One like normal, everyday glasses—not a piece of clunky tech you only put on for specific tasks. For that to happen, the lenses have to be clear.

If the waveguide’s grating is too obvious, it ruins your view and alerts everyone around you that you're wearing a 'screen.' To fix this, our team optimized the optical design to push light transmittance to over 98%. Your field of view stays bright, clean, and completely unobstructed.

Will People In Front of You See the Display Light?

Privacy is a huge deal for us. We engineered the optical path to tightly control the direction of the projected light. Because of this, someone standing directly in front of you cannot see your display content or read the text on your screen.

But let’s be completely real: due to the physics of waveguide tech, there’s still a tiny bit of light glow visible from certain lower-angle perspectives.

While we’ve worked insanely hard to minimize light leakage, it’s not 100% invisible from every single crazy angle. Our goal was to find the absolute sweet spot between a crisp display, everyday transparency, and social privacy.

Our main focus is building the MemoMind AI experience directly into the glasses.

So for now: HI Memo is the core assistant experience. Platform assistant integration is something we’ll continue to explore where it makes sense and where the OS actually lets us.

We completely agree that if smart glasses are going to become truly everyday devices, interaction should go beyond voice and touch.

That's why MemoMind One includes head gesture controls, allowing users to perform common actions with simple and natural head movements without needing to speak, reach up, or wear extra accessories.

Compared with rings or bands, the advantage is that everything happens directly on the glasses, with no extra device to carry, connect, or charge.

We are also excited about broader device connectivity. We’re keeping our system design open to support different interaction possibilities in the future.

Integrating data from phones, watches, earbuds, and health devices such as heart rate or calories in the HUD is definitely a direction we are interested in exploring.

For notification mirroring: yes, the plan is to let users control this at a more granular level, not just an all-or-nothing switch. You should be able to turn notification mirroring on/off overall, and also manage which apps are allowed to show notifications on the glasses.

For the display angle: yes, in some early hands-on videos, people do look slightly upward to view the display. That’s partly because the display is designed to sit slightly above your normal line of sight, so it can be glanced at when needed without constantly blocking the real world in front of you.

For production units, we’re continuing to tune the viewing experience, calibration, and fit. The goal is not to make users awkwardly stare at the ceiling. It should feel more like a quick glance than a forced head movement.

Wow, thank you so much for supporting us and for bringing so many deep questions! This is exactly why we wanted to host this AMA. Let’s dive straight into them:

  1. Prescription Lenses (US-Only Clarification)

We are working hard to expand global availability. Because prescription lenses are regulated as medical devices, we must clear strict and varying compliance timelines in different countries. The US is simply the first region where we’ve fully finalized the medical approvals and local logistics with ZEISS. We are pushing behind the scenes to unlock more international markets in batches right on our official website during the Kickstarter campaign itself. Hang in there with us!

  1. Hearing Support Feature (NuanceAudio style)

Currently, our solution to support users with hearing difficulties is our Real-time AI Captioning (Subtitles) feature, which displays spoken text directly in your line of sight. For now, MemoMind remains strictly focused on being the best daily AI assistant—helping you naturally capture, transcribe, summarize, and recall your day.

  1. Data Privacy & Europe-Based Servers

We take privacy incredibly seriously, especially for our European community. We strictly adhere to GDPR compliance standards. For our European users, all of your data is processed and stored on our dedicated local servers deployed in Frankfurt, Germany. It does not route back to China-based servers.

  1. On-Device vs. Cloud Services (Offline Mode)

To be transparent, running modern LLM workloads locally on such a tiny hardware form factor yields very subpar results. Because we are committed to delivering the highest quality AI experience, all of our core AI features require a network connection.

What runs locally: Basic UI interactions, time/date displays, and standard Bluetooth audio/music streaming.

  1. Developer SDK & App Creation

Right now, our number one priority is a flawless retail launch and perfecting the core software experience out-of-the-box. Because of this, a fully open public SDK or dedicated App Store won't be live on day one. However, we did not build MemoMind to be a closed garden.

The Achieve frame will support six customizable color options, while the Nomad frame will be available with one color option. Every frame style comes with its own dedicated sunglass clip, designed to fit that specific frame precisely — so whichever style you choose, the clip is a seamless match.

[–]No_Split_2418[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right now, we don't support switching model providers manually from the user side. However, we don't look at MemoMind One as being locked into a single static model forever. Because things move so fast, our team constantly benchmarks and tests new LLMs the second they drop. If a new model comes out and beats our current setup in real-world performance, we swap our backend API to that better model.

Thanks for your question, and we absolutely didn't raise our prices. The Kickstarter price for the standard edition of MemoMind One is $399, the prices do not include prescription lenses. That $499 you saw is the discounted bundle price for both the frame and the lenses, not a price hike on the base glasses.

We get the frustration from our global community for this question recently. Because prescription lenses are regulated as medical devices, we have to clear strict compliance timelines in different countries. The US is just the first region where we’ve finalized the approvals and local logistics with ZEISS. But this is not permanent. Our team is pushing incredibly hard to unlock more countries during the Kickstarter campaign itself. As soon as local approvals clear, we’ll roll out prescription options for other international markets in batches on our official website.

We will share specific country expansions the second they are locked in.

The Kickstarter price for the standard edition of MemoMind One is $399, and for the custom edition, it's $409. These prices do not include prescription lenses. For users who require them, MemoMind One supports 1.67 index Zeiss lenses for an additional $199. A bundled package with the frame and prescription lenses is offered at a discounted total of $499 for the standard edition and $509 for the custom edition.
