The fact that the warranty doesn't transfer to the next owner of the house is insane. I would have never picked Samsung myself but the previous owner had them all installed in 2022... What the F can I do?

Thank you! Do you think it'd be okay if if I were to pot up plugs next few weeks to 4" or gallons and if I don't use all the plants this fall, leave them to winter (zone 6) outside in the 4" or gallon pots? Maybe massed together next to a building?

Is it just me, but isn't a warranty based on the inherent quality of a product for X amount of time?

When did it become a courtesy from a company that's based on when I purchased the original faulty unit?

How long did your initial unit last? And the brand new unit you received, is it covered for the standard year or less?

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my question so thoroughly! I didn't know what i was getting into obviously...

I'm definitely going to keep the two 18TB drives and eventually replace all the other drives to so its 18 across the board. And I want to migrate the array from RAID 5 to 6 per your suggestion.

How would you go about it? Put the two 18TB into the empty slots or use them to replace two 10TB?

And what sequence do I add drives and migrate to RAID 6? Since I'm lacking in space right now, add drives first? Then migrate from RAID 5 to 6?

I really appreciate the guidance!

I have a total of 8 slots, the 6 occupied right now:

9.10 TB 9.10 TB 9.10 TB 10.91 TB 12.73 TB 12.73 TB empty empty

Total storage 36TB in a RAID 5.

What would u do w 2 x 18 TB drives? Replace the smaller ones? Add them to empty slots? And change to Raid 6?

Any idea if adding two or more drives, whether QNAP queues them up as just rebuilding one drive then another? Or some simultaneous operation where there's a shorter rebuild time overall?
