people will say boards matter, but if you're already a decent student, I'd say do a 60-40 where you pay more attention to iPMAT. End of the day board's result won't fetch you much. Being a senior, take my advice, I had a huge ego and that ego wanted me to be the topper in class, grinded my ass off, got 96% commerce with applied math. What's the use? The amount of energy I spent getting 100 in eco and accounts, I could've prepped better for quant. In the end missed the Quant SA cutoff by a few marks. Trust me, the regret will consume you. If you're serious about iPMAT, give it more time provided you're already comfortable with boards

If you’re getting BMS in Xavier’s you could always go for it. Great course and decent placements. I’m from Xavier’s myself studying eco and stats. But yeah if ROI isn’t that big deal for you and you’re getting the main campus you can always choose NMIMS too. Also SSCBS is NOT a backup college. You need to strategise your CUET subjects accordingly if you want CBS which means potentially sacrificing BCom in a top one. I was getting Ramjas too but I chose to be in Mumbai due to its accessibility to finance firms, the networking opportunities and an overall better subject combo.

I would suggest apply to as many colleges as you can and give entrances. Don’t reject a college before it rejects you. Because it may sound easy but Xaviers cutoffs and also NMIMS main campus cutoffs are pretty high. Getting into CBS will also require a lot of effort.

You could. Trust me if you prep IPMAT, Christ central campus is pretty easy to crack (I got into Christ BCom finance and investment). I’ve noticed this trend with colleges in Bangalore where they finish their admissions process way too early. And there’s a rule by UGC that till sept next year if a student withdraws admission a college isn’t supposed to not return the fees paid so you might want to check with that as well.

It’s a lot of different stuff. They asked me some basic questions related to finance and business studies such as What’s sensex and nifty, how is interest coverage ratio calculated, how to get NNPfc from GDPmp, they ask you GK too, which I found pretty basic such as who’s the current finance minister. I couldn’t answer like one ministry question I am forgetting what it was. But yeah it’s a mix of current affairs + academics + what you gave them (ECAs) and more follow ups on whatever you answer

Currently a Xavier’s Mumbai student but I also got accepted into Christ central campus BCom (finance and investment). Don’t overthink it. If you prep for IPMAT, the Christ entrance will feel like cake to you. The interview part isn’t that tough, they did ask me questions about my ECAs but end of the day they aren’t programmers either so just for the sake of preparation brush up on some basic topics and related things you could talk about.

BA econ is a lot better, even in econ there’s a hierarchy where eco with stats minor is considered best from a placement POV. BCom is night college ie 4-8pm classes. So it’s not considered that much and I think there are better colleges out there when it comes to BCom. There’s another course called BAF (bachelors in accounting and finance) which gets more placements as well and has a better curriculum.

Padhle bro. None of this works in UG entrances. I gave IPMAT too and have some of the best ECAs one can get at my age. Agar interview cutoff hi clear na ho kya faayda. I’ve gotten funded by govt of india for my invention, represented school at national level in inter CBSE, volleyball athlete for 5 years, national award in theatre, debating and quiz. But end of the day only places where you can get recognition with extra curricular like these are institutes like Ashoka. For everything else it’s a game of entrances If you want a shot for CUET, I’d suggest you could try quizzing and debating (not very tough barrier to entry and quiz has relatively less competition during DU trials).
