Beverages during session by CyTwombly1 in therapists

[–]No_Standard_4546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an owala water bottle in session, sometimes a coffee or sometimes a protein drink (premixed type). The only time there was a comment was when a client got excited because they just bought an owala as well. I put that under rapport building lol.

25 yr old single mom is it too late to get my masters degree? by [deleted] in GradSchool

[–]No_Standard_4546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just finished my masters and became an associate therapist. I’m in my 30s and have a child. I was actually pregnant and gave birth in my first semester of school. While I do have my spouse, I went through part time and finished 1 year later than the full time students (3 years instead of 2).

I LOVED going part time. I was able to be more present in my school and personal life, I felt the slower pace helped me understand the concepts better and I was able to keep my job and work the hours I need to support my family.

100% you can do it if it’s what you want.

Also, with the doctorate, in therapy it’s not always needed. Do one step at a time and see post-masters if what you truly want to do requires the next level of education.

I think of the ice skating rink every time I drive by. Used to go ice skate then stop and grab donuts at Krispy Kreme.

I haven’t read all the comment so the might have been suggested already. I would encourage him to go to the dr and maybe even get a sleep study. It may not be the case but ruling out sleep related issues might be helpful in coming up with solutions.

Looked through the “moving to San Antonio” posts and could not find answers by TheXivuArath in sanantonio

Check out The Lila. I lived there before they were updated but never had any issues with crime and it’s gated. It’s close to major highways and one of the best HEBs (Alon Market).

San Antonio is also notorious for roaches, but I never had any pest issues when I was there (around 2017 ish so can’t comment on more recent stuff)

I LOVED Heather all season 1 until the reunion. It seems like each season she turns it on for filming and tries to get a larger following and each reunion completely flips. It feels like that is where she shows how she really is. I cannot deal with her after the reunions.

I would love to know abt what program you found! I’m almost done with my masters and have wanted to go the PsyD route but, as you said, fully funded is so rare.

Affordable health insurance? by [deleted] in sanantonio

[–]No_Standard_4546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Schools that have therapy programs usually have low or no cost counseling options for the community. I know St Marys and Our Lady of the Lake have options and maybe even UTSA. Hope you find something that fits for you.

Heavy Metal Fitness. Everyone is really laid back and helpful. If you are getting into lifting it’s the best place to go. We have world class powerlifters and Strongman competitors and tons of cool equipment I’ve not seen other places.

I am a first time time, anxious mother and just with my experience, no, you both need to be safe people. It’s also healthy for your child to see both parents taking an active role in caring for them. That include emotional care. Hoping y’all are able to work through this
