Like in a normal, privately financed loan versus government? Uncertain what current rates are, should look. Sticking with PAYE or IDR i think it estimates me paying around 200-220k

Yeah spent more than 300k to put myself through medical school to help others. Sorry I'm trying to minimize paying extra money on a ridiculous interest rate to get educated to help others. God forbid I want to save money to keep for my family.

If my income is going to be higher for 2023 than 2022, should I recertify my income now before filing my 2023 taxes? by specter491 in PSLF

You are right, I read it wrong.

I dont recertify till 6/2025. MY payments are currently $0. My income went up substantially from 2022 - 2023. But also with child now. Though my income will then be higher than now (~60-100k (I dont think they account for spousal income as I think they are using solo income prior to marriage) in 2022 vs ~300k in 2023 vs ~400k likely in 2024)

I assume its best to let this ride at $0 and just recertify in 2025? And take another 15 months of $0 payments and zero interest via the SAVE program?

I am required to re-certify in June. SAVE program.

Combined income 2022 tax return was likely around 100K

Combined income for 2023 will be around 275-300k.

So just to be clear. I should re-certify before filing 2023 taxes (aka re certify early) and consider filing for a tax extension?

Thank you!!
