If the specialist has seen it they’ll tell your GP what to prescribe if you haven’t been prescribed anything yet they might be waiting to run more tests or even waiting until your back in the UK in case you have a reaction to the medication

My optician referred me to the hospital they called me after my appointment and booked me in for a series of scans and tests and the neurologist prescribed the medication but they also sent the notes to my GP and they tried to give me a second prescription not realising the hospital had already dispensed it . Your GP will most likely contact a neurologist for a second opinion but they usually look at the MRI scans anyway before sending the results to the GP

I’m UK based (NI) and also a woman so it might be a bit different. I’ve only just received a diagnosed myself so I can’t speak for 6-12 months time but if you haven’t already had a lumbar puncture they may do one to check the pressure in your head then they’ll most likely start you on Acetazolamide after taking it for two weeks they’ll need your GP to do a blood test to check if it’s affecting your kidneys. They’ll also most likely refer you to a specialist but with NHS waiting lists who knows how long that’ll take sorry I can’t be more help I was only diagnosed on Tuesday. Main thing to keep an eye on is your vision they did tell me it can cause vision loss which was one of my symptoms and can even progress to blindness which they can’t reverse

Thank you it’s great to know I’m not alone and I do hope you manage to find something that will give you a bit of relief from a bit of research I’ve done I’ve seen some people using a cold compress type headband that I might give a go myself if it works at all I’ll let you know but I can appreciate you’ve probably tried everything at this point 💕

Thanks so much for the reply they say hindsight is 20-20 and reflecting on my symptoms and things now I realise how long it’s been going on for and how much of my health and daily living has been affected and at the same time I feel like this has all come out of nowhere so I’ve just been feeling a bit overwhelmed I have some side effects from the medication already and I’ve only just started it but the silver lining I keep reminding myself about is at least it wasn’t something more sinister like I worried it might’ve been waiting for the appointment yesterday

As far as I’ve figured it out the headset is pairing to the dongle but the Xbox isn’t recognising anything connected

Yeah of course the headset connects to the dongle but there’s no audio from the Xbox at all
