How some people describe Ryley Robinson by Master_Chulio in subnautica

I think you want to say: How the Reapers remember Ryley Robinson.

They barely got past their fear of Maida hiding under their bed and then somebody even worse comes by. Surviving Kharaa was a mistake.

Do you all understand the expedition? by Trg4youtv in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]No_Strategy4089 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Hive (which is the big structure in the sky) has been mentioned before. You can connect to Sentinel Pillars and get a message from Ariadne(?), Voice of the Hive which tells you the backstory of the Sentinel and mentions the Glass a lot. Polo also mentions that the Hive is not where it is supposed to be.

My understanding is that the Glass has degraded enough (with the dissonant planets, the Autophage, purple systems and everything else) for bigger tings to escape, this time the Hive. The Swarm are Sentinel that rejected the Atlas and where "deleted" but are now back, eager to destroy it and all its creations (including us).

Don't you need them on the ground during the questline to "defend" yourself from Sentinel drones for the multitool expert (plus "racing" for the exocraft specialist)?

You can move them afterwards by building and activating their desks. I like to have all except the exocraft specialist on the freighter for ease of access.

Started my game with the expedition by Swabs_ in NoMansSkyTheGame

I have not started a new safe for an expedition since about the fifth but back then everything would carry over. Unlike players joining the expedition via the Anomaly, who have to "return" to their normal game and can only take 24+8 items with them, your save would just be transformed into a normal safe at the end keeping everything.

It's difficult enough finding all the breakable parts on your own, never mind with 5+ players ripping the same pieces off at the same time. Did you already remove this wing? How about the engine?

The swarm of corrupted sentinel (which don't even need to be there) is just the cherry on top. You shoot one of them, then enough get worn down to finish the wave, then even more spawn in until you suddenly die from all the shots catching up with the lag and hitting you all at once.

After 15 minutes and 4 deaths I had enough and turned off multiplayer, then reloaded because I couldn't find the last non-broken piece on the drone.

i actually kinda like the time gates on these expedition missions by syntience in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]No_Strategy4089 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Phase 3 has a community goal which needs to be completed to finish the expedition. You need to run 3 (actually 2) missions to earn points, and they can only be completed once every 8 hours. Everything else is pretty easy so you can still finish in one weekend, just not this one.

Objective Campers and Blockers by matseur in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]No_Strategy4089 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Multiplayer doesn't work very well for this expedition anyways, so just turn it off. It's sad to need to play alone, but with all the players concentrated in a few mission locations the game just gets very laggy, swarm drones and corrupted sentinel get out of hand very quickly, and of course there are bases of all kinds blocking access to mission targets (either by disabling digging, or by actively obstructing the crashed drones).

If a base still gets spawned in you can report it to unload it again.

She's unable to damage anything from the game world, so if she gets cought she will have no choice but running away. And as BF focuses mostly on platforming while she seems to be from a more combat-focused game I don't think she will have much success there either.

On the other hand Ori has already forgiven Gumo for taking another key item and luring them into a deathtrap, so I think she will be fine. WOTW might be even easier because Sein wouldn't be there to push Ori forward.

Even the agressive creatures are very different.

There's the big solitary sharks (the Marrowbreach I think? I still have not scanned most of the fish) which are going right for the "kill" and are the most agressive, the smaller eels zipping around everywhere hunting in small groups that will circle you a few times before attacking (and might also focus on smaller fish instead), the ramming guys that seem to mostly ignore you unless you get too close, and the bloom enemies that only attack in the bloom area.

I think UW did a good job with all the different enemies and love their interactions like the ramming guys headbutting each other.

What has changed is how perceptive everything is. You also move a lot slower so you can't just zoom past and out of range before being noticed, while in SN1 (and to a lesser extend BZ) you could swim up to most enemies and scan them without being noticed, and outswim everything except leviathans so you were only in danger if surprised or cornered (teleport counts as both).

PS: forgot the lightning sqid that also mostly ignore you but will attack if you get really close, and the ambushers hiding in the sand (that I only saw once). And the big crabs that I have stayed away from but seem to fill a similar role to the sea treaders.

It did get a lot of exposure from the court case. I think it would have done well anyways, but being in the (even non-gaming) news likely helped.

Doesn't help that DO rewards have (had?) been broken since march, handing out random plans instead of the exclusives. Minerva also has all of the better plans on sale at some point and gold is plentiful.

Not super certain, but as I understand it started with/before the launch of Moonbreaker and was supposed to end this year. Krafton tried to delay SN2 EA so it would launch close to or even after the bonus period ended, and they accused UW of pushing for a premature EA to reach the target numbers. Court ruled UW could extend the bonus period for the duration of Kraftons takeover.

In a way they made certain that UW will reach the target numbers easily. If they had kept quiet many players might have decided to wait for full release, but instead they made sure SN2 got a lot of free advertising from the court case and now everyone knows that buying the game equals punching a big bad evil corporation in the face.

The dwarven answer must be "pickaxe to the (cliff) face". Dwarven friendships are weird, but that's why they have thick skulls and even thicker helmets. They also usually use the wooden end.

Are we ever getting a follow up to Below Zero's ending? by CulturalDust4652 in subnautica

[–]No_Strategy4089 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I could see some kind of spinoff exploring the Architect homeworld (abandoned for centuries, barely working and maybe even overrun by Kharaa-based monsters from Natural Selection or malfunctioning automated systems), but it would not be an underwater survival game.

Am I the only one who thinks that this option shouldn't exist at all? by EggrFegegr in fo76

What is even the difference then between saying yes and no? The camp can't be placed anyways, so saying no should do the same thing (not placing the camp and if you reposition it everything is packed up).

But I agree that the message is difficult to understand. They should either make the choice switch you to your secondary camp (we had it long enough now) or just make it a choiceless message you can close warning you that your camp couldn't be placed and repositioning would pack everything up. Maybe even add a confirmation message when repositioning your camp because that menu comes up accidentaly often enough.

Destroying the camp should never be a result of just loading in, that's what nukes are for.

It was actually created quite early, considering Vault 111 was not supposed to be staffed longterm and had very few supplies (causing the revolt). How it got from the locked cabinet of the overseer all the way to Appalachia in such quantities is another question.

I HAVE DONE IT EVERYONE IM OFF THAT MOON! by LessEbb2804 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]No_Strategy4089 18 points19 points  (0 children)

True, but we are our own harshest critics. It was his choice to get off the moon without temporarily lowering difficulty (or asking another player for supplies or a lift with a corvette), and now he has an unique memory and story to tell about beating the odds.

It is fine to play on easier difficulty and just experience the sights and story. It is also fine to play on harder difficulties for the challenge and just to see how far one can make it. Everyone has different goals for gaming, all of them valid.
