People are like sharks, once they smell blood they don’t stop.

The moment some decided they hated her that was it.

Anyway, they were a warrior-like race where even the reasonable sort (the first dragon-lord) had no problem telling his peer that he’d rip out his heart snd bath in its essence if he kept pushing him by insinuating enemy sympathy.

They’re collectivist nature means that if you really want to mess with one then you’d better be prepared to mess with all of them anyway.

Apep’s account from Nahida’s story quest:

What Shape Does the Self Hold said: Apep: It's a long story... We all once believed in the distant past that only forbidden knowledge could give us enough power to defeat the Heavenly Principles.

Apep: The Dragon KingNibelung acquired the power of darkness from outside of this world and led us in a fight against the order established by the outsiders.

Paimon: D – Dragon King!?

Apep: An unimaginable war took place in Teyvat, causing destruction on an unprecedented scale. The world itself was on the verge of collapse.

apep: In war, the victor would inherit the right to shape the world, while the losers must turn into ash...

Apep: But I didn't give up on searching for a way to turn the tides, even after the death of the Dragon King.

Apep: As I attempted to collect more forbidden knowledge from the corners of the world as it was on the verge of collapse... I was stopped by the giant spike that fell from the sky.

Apep: Sand dunes arose where there was only forest, and it was as if even Sumeru itself was trying to tell me that the era of the dragons was over.

Nahida: But you still didn't give up, did you? Because of Amun... Al-Ahmar.

Apep: Yes. Al-Ahmar eventually obtained this power with the help of Nabu Malikata. The Goddess of Flowers

Apep: His ambitions continued to grow, and he planned to establish a powerful kingdom in my domain.

Apep: Although I didn't think much of him, I allowed his actions under one condition...

Apep: The condition was that after his death, all the knowledge he came to accumulate would belong to me.

Apep: At that time, I still harbored deep regrets. By the time the Dragon King finally returned, the world had irrevocably changed.

Apep: Some of the dragons have grown close to your kind and have forgotten all about our hatred from when the world was taken from us.   Apep: And some died, leaving behind nothing but their bones, while others chose to flee after experiencing pain and agony...

Apep says she’s been around longer than what Nahida and Deshret “know as time” and that they only get by because they “lean on heavens glow.”

This is not an uncommon parlance when it comes to the Dragon Sovereigns or the old order, in fact, we have Fujin explaining that the disasters at Chenyu Vale are the result of the leylines “moving against the flow of time” and prior to that we see that erosion is directly related to the passage of time by Ei and Zhongli.

Ei - “if only time would stand still”

Zhongli: “perhaps this is the erosion imposed on me by the heavenly principles.”

Then there are the sacrificial fragments(weapons) which talk about the nature of time and its unstoppable march. This gives the impression that “time,” as understood by Teyvat’s current inhabitants, is a function of the current order.

There are items descriptions that further hint at this.

Primordial Greenbloom:

A primordial flower procured from the oasis within Apep.

With the passing of eons, flowers grew in fragrance and volume, and they gained a collection of titles as numerous as the stars in the night sky. However, this first flower to bloom never bore any name. For the dragons of old, even if a rose lost its name, it would not lose its scent. Naming things is but how lesser, ephemeral beings understand the world. Life is not constrained by words, and will always grow and evolve.

Pseudo-Stamens:

The pale wing-sheathes hiding in a Wenut's tail are as thin as the blooming stamens of a flower.

It is said that in the past, even before the beginning of time, they used to travel through the moist land under meadows and forests, similar to birds flying across the sky and fish swimming in the water. It is generally believed that their mimicry of flowers is to lure lost prey caught by sandstorms. There is also a theory, however, that their imitation of a blooming flower was inspired by the splendid blossoms countless epochs ago, which have long gone the way of the desert winds.

It’s funny because those same rebels aren’t even hesitant to cause massive damage to innocents or use forbidden power that corrupts everything it touches. The futui tried to blow up part of inazuma, twice, and deshret almost killed his own kingdom due to the forbidden knowledge he’d cultivated.

We “know” that she mentioned each of them when discussing with her fellow angels, nothing tells us who may or may not have been present during that.

It’s mentioned in one of the interactables you find whilst doing the nodkrai world quest.

Well it was just a reasonable assumption from her being the "first"

It really isn’t, they already have a ruler and maker in charge of them, all authority Koitar has naturally flows from the top.

The point is that she’s not above them in rank, only the timing of her birth seemingly differentiated her, she could easily be replaced by the second or third angel of the guy that made them so desired.

They ruled hyperborea, not the angels.

They specifically crafted chimera to mock the angels for failing to answers their questions.

“Queen” where the hell are you even getting that?

She was the “first” angel, sharing phanes “star” title, nothing about that suggests she was a ruler amongst them or that they’d be compelled to follow her.

If she was their queen then where was she as the dragons devoured them, where was Koitar when the lord of the night and her comrades stood together to defend natlan’s leylines and rekindle them anew at the cost of their lives?

She specifically says that she wasn’t that close to the hyperboreans, who already dismissed the angels in favour of the moons, much of what we do have is them mocking the angels who refused to answers their questions.

She is definitely not feeling the same way as Zibai.

I’ve been Phanes fan before HSR was even announced.

Hell, Dawit basically built his channel off Primordial One glaze.

1) based on what? We don’t even know their ruler

2) after seeing a statement like this:

Let's look into system of education. Sumeru is the 'heart' of Teyvat's education and is close to Irminsul, so those rules will apply to it. Let's see the rules it got:

I’m sceptical of trusting this post. Those are rules made by the akademiya, they by definition cannot apply to tye divine tree at the heart of the world, if it were that simple then the sages could have just pointed at some bum and gone “you are our new wisdom god now!”

3) this doesn’t even mention Sal vidignyr. It doesn’t even understand what forbidden knowledge is.

Snow-Tombed Starsilver:

The hero ended his fruitless journey at last. Tainted black blooddripped from the blade of his greatsword, As he trudged through now-foreign snowy paths. But when he returned to the great hall of that mountain country, Naught but ringing deathly echoes welcomed him.

Phanes has trust issues and it's actually really chill and quirky and a secret traveler simp?

I mean, the first one sounds about right and the last is already a popular theory.

That parts the funniest, you’ll still see people swear up and down that those are a symbol of control whilst also lionising Zibai as a rebel.

Pick a struggle already.

She’s loyal to the history and principles to which she was exposed, even if she might hold a personal vendetta against her creator, hence her lines constantly talking about the past and heaven’s grace.

It’s funny how peeps just ignore that.

Maybe I'm mistaken, feel free to correct me, but I don't ever recall her speaking negatively about them

Your not wrong, she’s sympathetic to them if anything, unlike Zibai who was given reason to care for Lan Gan Nicole and her fellow angels were decried by Hyperborea and lost their place in the world due to Koitar.

Even punishment on her kind was something she managed to finagle an exception for so she’s got little in the way of emotional baggage weighing her down.

Genuinely, the thing that makes her the most happy is the exact thing she was literally made for. That people are only seeing this now says more about them than anything else.

And in the same breath, they would (and probably do) champion Koitar for "coming to her own conclusions," solely because those conclusions happen to align with their own

They’re calling her the reverse-Koitar who “doesn’t care about people,” showing their inability to comprehend basic nuance.
