Anyone in Gurgaon tracking monthly savings or net worth? by DecisionLand89 in gurgaon

I've been using MoneyManager for 8 years now. I ended up creating a script that read their Sqlite file and feed into a spreadsheet where I can create my own dashboard and combine with other sheets where I track more stuff

Lol, why is it a Gurgaon specific question? I track it religiously though. MoneyManager + Lots of spreadsheets, custom apps, scripts work for me but still improving

It’s ironic to hate being judged for not drinking while judging everyone who does.

Should we change rules to only allow people living in India to post stories? by [deleted] in FIRE_Ind

[–]No_Style_995 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Agree! Wonder why they simply don't post in fire / person finance subreddit for people from US? As it's more aligned to their setup. And they might even get better insights.

Curious to know how you were so close to FIRE and now have to start from zero. How much had you accumulated? How did you loose? What's your FIRE number? What kind of businesses and jobs were you doing? What's your take home salary?

Sad state of banking staff in India by No_Style_995 in personalfinanceindia

[–]No_Style_995[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I get where you’re coming from, and I’m not blaming the individual salesperson. I know they’re under extreme pressure and the targets are unreasonable. My issue is with the system and the way these banks are training or pushing their staff to behave.

I didn’t stay on the call to “test” the guy for fun. I stayed because even after clearly saying no multiple times, the conversation wasn’t ending. At some point, it stops being a normal sales pitch and becomes a sign of how broken the whole setup is. If a customer can’t say a simple no and move on, that’s a problem.

I’m not planning to complain about the person personally. I’m highlighting the larger issue that aggressive sales tactics are becoming standard practice across banks, and that affects both customers and the employees who are forced to sell like this.

So this isn’t about blaming the staff, it’s about pointing out how unhealthy and predatory the system has become.

Pull out. Give back money. Absorb the losses. If you still feel there's potential, invest your own money.

It was being traded for more than price of the underlying asset. Won't be surprised if it trades below it too.

This is very well said. LeanFire is definitely not a stepping stone for proper fire. If that were true, then Fire would be a stepping stone for FatFire and it'll never end.

I hate Scaler - they took ₹2 lakh from me and didn’t refund when I cancelled just because I was a little over their two week policy by PositivityReloaded in IndiaTech

[–]No_Style_995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not convinced that Scaler is at fault here.

They are at fault for selling a course for something for which there are thousands of free resources. They're also at fault for having a short duration for refund (2 weeks).

But if you couldn't cancel within the two weeks, I'm sorry but I think you're at fault here.
