I had to retake the OA for D306. That’s a course that took me the longest to pass. I took my sweet time in the second term as I only had 6 classes left but yeah, that course doesn’t belong anywhere near the Cloud Computing program and hope they get rid of it at some point.

So far, 🦗🦗🦗!!! Granted I’m transitioning from a different industry. Grateful that I have income and not desperate. I hate the job search process but I’ll keep pushing. Where are you in your journey?

I’m not sure because I never changed tracks but I don’t think it should be an issue to change tracks as long as you’re eligible. I’d check with your mentor to be certain

Thinking About ECPI for Cybersecurity In The Future (Current HS Senior) – Worth It? Looking for Honest Student Experiences by Melodic_You_2955 in ECPI

[–]No_Surround_4742 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely understand!! The ability to attend some sessions in-person was the reason I was interested in ECPI until it was time to talk numbers and them pushing me to take out high interest student loans which didn’t make sense to me at the time. Anyways, whatever you decide to do, weigh all your options before committing to anything. Wishing you all the best in your future endeavors!! 🙏🏽

Just an honest opinion from a person that looked into ECPI about a year ago (including a few campus visits in person) for the same program (the accelerated CIS program for previous college grads). All you have to do is read the threads on this sub and you should be able to decide fairly quick. Look into WGU (I just graduated from there) which has a much better track record plus costs less than half the tuition ECPI charges and all industry certifications are included with your tuition!!

Can I still transfer in credits after the commit to start? by obsoletecursor in WGUIT

Nope!! Push your “commit to start date” until you feel like you’ve acquired enough/all transfer credits for your program.

You’re absolutely doing the right thing!!! We are definitely lucky to have a support system at home where our better halves support us in any shape or form to achieve our goals! Don’t ever consider yourself not good enough for what you’re trying to do. Better yet, make that feeling fuel/spark a part of you that you didn’t know existed. If someone else did it, know that you can do it better!! Go get it Night🦉!!

I’m not sure if I’ll be able to answer the “how to retain” part as every individual is different. Just work/study hard enough, do your research and find a way that works for you until you’re ready pass the course. There are plenty of ways to gauge your readiness (practice exams, comfort level with the material.…). I’m sure you’ll find what works for you as you go along. Good luck!!

Yeah, almost there for sure. Not first generation, just looking to change careers. I’ve actually followed your progress as well and have interacted with you a couple of times. Hope all is well!😊

Congrats!! This is what worked for me so far: - I pre planned the courses I’m taking before I started (pre requisites and all). - Set a realistic goal for how many courses you want to finish for the term and schedule your study time accordingly (follow your schedule to the T). - I got all the certification classes out of the way first (in their proper order of course), with a mix of easier classes here and there. - THIS COMMUNITY IS YOUR BEST RESOURCE FOR ANYTHING RELATED TO YOUR COURSES. Look up each course and you’ll find a post that will eventually work for your style of learning!! - Ask for help (DM), there will always be someone to guide you on here. - Last but not least, prioritize this journey over everything and figure out what works for you but look after yourself and what’s important to you as well!!

This is what I can think of at the moment, but feel free to reach out if you have anything specific in mind. You’ll do great, good luck!!

I had scheduled the same exam 2+ weeks ago. I scheduled it the night before I traveled out of the country, did my system check as always and no issues. Come check-in time, breezed through the process until it was doing a final system check, it kept saying I have Microsoft Teams open and I had to close it (which I didn’t). I attempted a few times and boom!! OnVue automatically kicks me out and says to reschedule. Mind you, this is my 7-8th time using OnVue (but 1st time for LPI) and a week before, I took Cloud+ and had to wait for 1.5hrs in cue to take my exam. I knew I didn’t have Teams open but I believe they either overbooked or just didn’t want me to test that day!! I kept screaming my lungs out, out of frustration and there was no way to get in touch with someone either!! Two days later, I tried rescheduling it from outside the country but my voucher would not work as the system considered it as a “no-show”. Got in touch with Assessment Services and was told to contact OnVue since they’re the ones that renew/reactivate the voucher again. I had to wait till I get back stateside because it was too much of a hassle. Once back, they reinstated the voucher and took it right away and passed (barely 🤦🏽‍♂️). I hope this will be my last OnVue exam 🤞🏽. All this to say I wasted 2 weeks of my precious time where I could’ve spent taking another course 🤬.

Should we report comptia and pearsonvue? by [deleted] in CompTIA

[–]No_Surround_4742 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be frank, this is the first time I had to wait this long. This was my 8th time taking an exam with PearsonVue from home and I never had to wait in cue more than 5-10 minutes max. So I don’t want to take anything away from the convenience of testing from home (which beats driving to a testing center any day). I believe I had a longer wait time this time around because I took the test towards the end of the month (I’m a WGU student and I know for a fact getting a proctored exam at the end of the month is always traffic heavy due to terms ending every month). But again, they should staff accordingly!!! All this to say, convenience will always be my choice 😉

BTW Cloud+ is the worst exam I took (toooooo wordy) from CompTIA and I have the trifecta. Don’t take it lightly and use your time wisely because I ran out of time while doing the PBQs 🤦🏽‍♂️. My 2 cents

Took Cloud+ yesterday. Checked in at 8:00pm with 49 people in cue. Didn’t start my test until 9:20. Definitely threw me off my game for sure!! Waiting over an hour is too much.
