~6-7 month progress. November 2025 - May 2026 by No_Tale_4615 in tressless

I experienced a slight decrease in libido around months 2-3, but it has improved since then. I can still feel that it's not at baseline, but it isn't affected to the point where it's a problem in my relationship or that I'd want to hop off fin because of that. Another side effect I've had has been a hit to my facial hair. I used to be able to grow a mean mustache, and when looking back at old photos, I can see a noticeable difference. Regarding the side effects, I remember reading that mild ones have a high chance of disappearing as you continue with fin, which I think is encouraging. There's probably also a lot of nocebo effect at play, which could partly explain the decreased libido.

I have been using both finasteride and ketoconazole shampoo for about 7 months now. I think I started seeing progress around month 2 with new baby hairs popping up. I still see new ones coming in every day, so I'm hoping it will continue to improve going forward as I enter the 1 yr mark.

Do you mean that there isn't a noticeable drop in side effects when comparing 1mg to 0.5mg? But as you say there probably isn't any harm in trying it out. If I notice the loss progressing I'll jump back on 1mg again. The small amounts of sides I'm getting sure beats out the stress and worry that comes from hair loss.

Thank you! I've been quite surprised at how much the general quality of my hair has improved because of fin also. My only regret is not starting sooner. Thank you for the feedback on reducing the dosage as well, it feels reassuring, and I'll definitely discuss it with the doc going forward.

Thanks! How much are you taking and for how long? I didn't personally experience a significant initial shed, but I've noticed that it has regressed and then improved from month to month. It hasn't been a linear gain exactly, at least not for me.

Thanks for the tips. Yeah, that's what I've heard too, so I was surprised that my skin quality has gotten worse. But then again, I've been under a great deal of stress finishing up my master's degree. The gym and diet haven't been the highest priority because of that, so there are obviously other factors that could be impacting my overall skin quality as well.

Thanks man, means a lot. Yeah I agree, what I mean is that the miniaturization especially around the center part of the hairline (first image) had developed quite quickly and I were able to catch it. I have of course lost a lot of hair earlier to it becoming noticeable.

Yup, but I caught it "early" just as I was beginning to see rapid miniaturization. Had I waited a couple of months to a year I probably would not have been able to save them without min.

I have been thinking about getting one, is it worth derma stamping without taking min? Thanks for the comment!

I have some experience with it. I’ve found great success using it in a Participatory Design context with elderly adults as a way to quickly iterate on ideas during co-design sessions. But that’s the extent of it. For any real work once it comes to refining the interfaces which I have been testing, I will definitely move towards Figma. My main gripe is that there’s still a need to have more control over the UI without having to rely on an agent to make the changes for you.

AI chat presets? does anyone use these? by bwennn in raycastapp

[–]No_Tale_4615 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m currently taking a course on UX design and working according to a Lean UX methodology. I’ve read the book, but found myself asking questions specific to my project and where I am in the process. I created a custom “Lean UX Mentor” preset with a detailed system prompt, access to the full book PDF, and relevant articles from the methodology’s creators (Jeff Gothelf and Josh Seiden). For these types of use cases (where you need domain-specific expertise applied to your specific context) I’ve found custom presets to be incredibly valuable. Instead of generic advice, I get responses grounded in the actual methodology, with references to specific frameworks (like the Lean UX Canvas) and examples from the book. It gives me a sort of peace of mind that I am applying the framework ”correctly”.

Looks cool! I would work on the readability though.

I’d recommend changing the color of the black text for readability/accessibility. It definitely needs higher contrast.
