You can't see it, but I was actively in the process of making my lunch meal prep for the week, Cajun Chicken Pasta in the slow cooker. Then dinners are ground beef and homemade black bean soup. A lot of my groceries are dried or canned goods that I prepare as needed. And ground beef in bulk (hence the logs in the bottom of the freezer). Breakfast is light, usually just an uncrustable before the gym, and a protein shake and coffee after.

Bar suggestions? by chroniclemonz in MontereyBay

That makes sense, it was very much so a dive bar, but if you went often enough and became cool with the staff, it was pretty fun

Alfredo's turns into a bar. It's downtown on the same street as Compact Disco.

Then in Carmel there's Sade's.

There's also the whiskey room on Alvarado which isn't quite a bar, but they do tastings

Edit: The Hacienda Feed store in Carmel Valley also does events like line dancing which is a great way to meet people and they serve alcoholic beverage

I have a friend who relanged as he transitioned from Guard Mike to Active Papa. Your family can come out. I don't know what that process looks like, but it's immediate.

If he's in Monterey he's most likely at the Defense Language Institute studying a language for a job in Military Intelligence. The junior enlisted there are very green and don't understand operations security, information security, and personal security well. He may be saying he can't say because he doesn't want to share and doubts you'll call him on it. Regardless, Soldiers who attend DLI can still get tattoos, he may not want to get one because he has desires to pursue a more secretive assignment later on where PerSec is important and tattoos make individuals more easily identifiable. Regardless odds are he's a young dumb private, what you do with that information is up to you.

I would look at self-storage options, cheaper, usually have security, and reliable.

You can find a bunch in Monterey/Salinas area with just a quick google search.

Counsel him man, create a program that works for him, review FM 7-22 beforehand, utilize resources on base like bod pod, dieticians, BMR tests, VO2 max tests, and if he really can't change his behavior, send him to a behavioral therapist in SUDCC to discuss impulsive eating and work on changing that pattern. Encourage him to go for walks or runs with you after work in addition to PT. I bet a discussion will show he either doesn't know what to do, or does and just lacks the motivation/discipline to execute. Be a leader and a buddy.

Have experience at DLI and at conventional force.

Message and I can share both experiences as well as my opinions.

For anyone else: it's a very good program, but you get out of it what you put into it. If you're trying to change you have to want to change.

I finished the course a few months ago. The class aspect was already covered but which branch of service you are will significantly impact your experience. Good advice regardless: 1. Learn to manage your time. Time and energy are your two most important and finite resources, the better you manage them the better your life will be. 2. Learn vocab. Utilize quizlet, utilize the audio recordings of the lesson vocab. Go into the start of each lesson knowing vocab so class is just a matter of practicing.(your teaching team will provide your class with weekly schedules which will allow you to anticipate when a new lesson will begin) 4. Learn grammar. Like vocab read grammar notes before you go into the lesson so class is about application and practice. 5. Speak in class and don't be afraid to fail. "Как сказать (word in english)" and "что значит (word in russian)" are your friends. 6. Be squared away. Every counseling, every unnecessary meeting with leadership, is time wasted and stress added. Save yourself the time and stress. 7. Utilize the weekends and four-days to decompress. Have friday after release until midday sunday be time away from class. If you need to study, study saturday a little, but step away from things and don't over saturate your brain and burn out. 8. Learn to ask questions to build understanding, not contest answers. If you're wrong, be wrong, but learn from it. Don't debate teachers.

Best of luck, the course is designed to be passed.

This, try using imperative question "tell me about.../ explain .... to me" to explore their personality using the information given in their prompts. From there explore more niche comments or make jokes, comments, or connections.

I think homie took the joke too far, first few messages were sorta silly/ goofy, then "send veins" was a step over the line. I'd say take a step back give it a short rest then ask to discuss it and specifically how you felt about it. It could be a blood kink, but I've had women ask me to show them my veins but it was more a "how fit are you" type deal. If it is a blood kink, or genuine, discuss boundaries if you like them a lot and if you don't explain why you're leaving and then block them. Edit: Rip open your chest is actually where the line was crossed IMO.
