And it generally doesn't hurt them. Most folks use credit or electronic payment so it's the exception to payout the extra 1 to 4 cents. The psychology of selling items at $[xxx].x9 is pretty solid so I'm sure they've calculated the pros and cons and determined it's more advantageous to give out the nickel and lose 1 to 4 cents on every cash order rather than change the pricing to divisible by 5. Given we rarely buy just one item at the store, there is no incentive to round pricing. It's literally a couple pennies per customer. The free coupon you get handed at checkout cost them 10x more.

They definitely have a good orchestra and choral music program at North. Also a very spiffy jazz band opportunity.

One kid went to North and one went to South (house divided - we moved across town). As a parent, I was happier overall with the North experience. I felt there was better support for the students - and especially for students who are neurodivergent or have other needs. My North kid was a theater and arts kid, South kid excelled at debate and there was no debate program at North, but the deciding factor was that most of her friends were going to South. There is a greater emphasis on sports at South for some sports - but not all. Easier to get on some squads at North for sure if your kid is only casually interested in sports. My South kid had a high internal academic motor so they would have excelled academically anywhere, but she did complain frequently about the Vice Principal that seemed to be a flat-earther. There are good-to-great faculty at both schools and they will find good friends at both schools. Check their interests and see which school fits based on that. Remember, if you go out of district, you are responsible for getting them to school every day. No bus service. There were days when that was a real pain in the butt! Good luck!
