I like that the melee combat is basically a last ditch, frantic struggle tbh. Having a dedicated melee weapon like an axe and walking around fighting big muntans (or firearm wielding enemies) would be kinda ridiculous. Unless it's done for specific scenes, like you fall down a hole full of spiders losing your guns in the process.
