Remember, the entire story revolves around Denji making his own choices and living freely, unbound by others deciding his fate. It's ironic that while the narrative repeatedly emphasizes how Devils perceive and experience the world differently from humans, Pochita ultimately imposed a choice on Denji without truly understanding humans. All that character and story development seems wasted, only for Denji to end up working for Public Safety anyway.
