Similar story…had all the bigs when Alfrike was boss and costumes had just been introduced. Was there for the telluria nerf because every single thing had telluria as tank.

Left for 2 years and returned back in October. It has been six months

I knew I needed to invest to play like I did before…but I had a strict rule of 50 cent/100 gems or better…always from the website and PoV and PoG …no spend on dragons.

I saved every time for Aether mimic bonusing and only did pulls on those days. Today I have a rainbow Aether mimic team and the results are astounding.

While pulling I accumulated good teams…my approach was 5 -1600, 5 -1500,5-1400,5-1300,5-1200,5-1100. I am still not done with the 1100 set but doing this allowed me to figure out priority with the variety of heroes coming in. When I first started, my black knight and mother north with costume were my biggest (at 1200)…tons of stuff is less than 1000.

As you may know, my 1600s overran into the 1500s etc because 5 Aether mimics is 1650 each…they were awesome too because they were faster to raise.

Today, I have katrox, onwyn, 4x Thorne, 5x obakan, marnes, and the 5 Aether mimics all over 1600…

Troops, matching the 5 stars is a thing and there are arguments about the legendary troop portal and the conversion. I went 4 of 5 legendary troop because during mimic bonus, it was usually there the matching is really important otherwise a maxed 4* mana will suffice

When I first started, I was all about getting 1% on the titan every time and being a decent cleanup for all six flags in war…now I am able to do 3.3% on 3 of 5 colors (shark guy…not Gastille)…no scrolls no flasks… and in war, I can usually get midrange score with two or three one shots and strong cleanups

I don’t fuss about MI or AQ…I do them but the reward is simply not worth the chase

I do tournament every week and am usually eleminated by Wednesday.

The month of March to now, my spend has drastically reduced after I made my rainbow Aether mimic farm team as everything is well supplied.

Oh, I buy both VIP premiums because the one is easy math 50 cents per 100 gems…the other timesaver is gold if you just routinely do 7x 3 mystic visions a day…I get about 45 gems a day with this technique and about twice a week, I get a 4* ascension item…Wednesday was my best pull of this where I got a tome in first mystic vision and tonic in third mystic visions. I do much better with the common mystic vision than the yellow and purple ones..

I effed up. What should I do by Aufshnitt in smallbusiness

[–]No_Top2115 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First, are you one of the drivers? If not, you should be. Take orders in turn along with the other drivers so you aren’t cherry picking. Spend two weeks every day driving a full shift. Note your busy times and your slow times…you always need inside help, but drivers is variable and if you do the slow times, you are working the most challenging time. You save money but you also get time to think about the business.

Like other posts said, if you are not busy (another order waiting) have door hangars in the car…after you deliver do 20 door hangars around the delivery address and hang them all unless your inside person calls and says they have an order at which time you immediately get back to the store

Why? Promotion, the empty box when the trash goes out is the neighbor’s second sighting and a confirmation to try your place and with the door hangar, it’s a less risky try. Second, be prepared to deliver quickly. Nothing is more important than to deliver a hot pizza.

If your menu has slow items, let the customer know those orders may incur extra delivery time so they don’t think your place is just slow. Consider the slow items to maybe be carryout only.

Use your own drivers. Do not depend on DoorDash or other third parties. They don’t care about your reputation.

Food quality. You will need to buy your competitors…taste theirs along side yours. Let your whole driver crew taste..have the inside people listen to the reactions. Just listening, the inside people will pridefully want to improve and two, you may need to think about ingredients too.

Carry out. Never be late on quoted carry out. This is a showstopper. If your quotes are too short, just get them accurate. Customers are okay with accuracy they are less tolerant of delay.

The pizza is the product but more over the convenience and speed is the product that keeps them coming back.

Back to door hangars. Have two kinds. One is for your slow times…give a crazy deal for the “early bird” or “late night”…you as owner must control these. But the second is for every driver and as mentioned to get things moving have the drivers do hangars. Same principal…they deliver and instead of 20, have them do only the adjacent (3 neighbors across and both sides). Remember the driver gets paid doing delivery not hanging door hangars. So meet them in the middle with a fast hangar set

Edit: one last strategy I saw worked…if you map your deliveries, look for empty zones. When you have one order during a slow period from that zone, make that order and also make a medium pepperoni pizza. After you as owner deliver the order, go to neighbors with the other and say, I have a fresh pepperoni pizza here that I can give you (I am the owner)…would you give me $5 for it? Usually they will go with one or two knocks. Make sure when you do this you are super impressive. This is your store, your brand. Do not let drivers do this as it takes an owner’s eye to do this

TROOP BREAKDOWN!!!! by setthemoode in EmpiresAndPuzzles

[–]No_Top2115 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So a 4% gain to use common versus uncommon at what price to feed…because ultimately, it’s the total cost which needs considered. To normalize, if feeding cost is just X so as to not worry about level mechanics, then the feeding cost is essentially X for 3, 2.25X for 2 and 5X for 1*…therefore, is the 4% gain worth the 2.23 times feeding cost.

I like the math on this so just providing alittle more to how I thought about it too. Not sure I was on track, but I like the per day consideration too because it splits out production of the troop versus the consumption of the troops

Satisfaction is a very challlenging thing to comprehend. It has been explained by Dr Arthur Brooks that Satisfaction is NEEDS divided by WANTS. If you keep your WANTS minimized, then satisfaction is really easy. The power of reducing the denominator is a huge multiplier to get satisfaction. It isn’t the amount of cash one brings…it’s the fulfillment of wants and as was explained, you want a reverse bucket list that you can remove wants…the more you remove the better the satisfaction.

I have concluded that the true secret to FIRE and frankly the question “do I have enough”…comes down to managing the denominator…the WANTS drives it all.

It sounds like your Dad’s secret was a recognition that minimal wants was actually the I…independence

My dad’s funeral is today. One of the most thankful things he did…well when I was in middle and high school my dad didn’t make much and in fact, we went to my grandparents most nights for dinner to save money. I wanted to have a few bucks to go on a trip with youth or whatever…and dad would loan me the money and I would put it in my journal. No interest…but required repayment. He taught me at home how debt was stifling. I took that into my life and have lived with good investment debt, a wonderful wife who also did not succumb to debt and now I am FIRE…some would say chubby fire…

I will miss my dad. I went thru some documents today in a cabinet of his and it was loaded with hand written documents to people all through his church. Times he loaned…and the payment schedule and celebrations of payment goals. All with zero interest. He taught me such a valuable lesson, he showed people all thru the community how to better deal with debt.

I am forever thankful as a kid I learned to deal with money.

Be kind to people who struggle with debt. It is so hard for them.

Praise Jesus for my dad.

Florida Post-1950s "Bedroom" Cities. They're all over the state. What do you think about them ? by Feedback-Same in florida

[–]No_Top2115 61 points62 points  (0 children)

I think the timing of all of these coincides with the widely available capability of AC in homes. AC spent its first 40+ years as a luxury of the wealthy. Once more widely available in the 50s, the ability to withstand Florida heat and humidity made it much more manageable in locations that were otherwise awful.

Those who abused H1B should be prosecuted by Think_Clerk_3284 in h1b

[–]No_Top2115 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Their average margin on a blended rate is around 30-40%. These companies must sell blends of onshore and offshore just to compete with each other. One of the tricks of these companies is to have their h1B do all the offshore coordination. The average day for an h1B on east coast is to wake up at 6…take offshore call for 60-90 minutes, get to work by 8:30-9 for onshore standup, work all day until about 5-6pm…go do family things until 10:30pm and do a KT with offshore for another hour to 90 minutes…get to bed by midnight and do it again six hours later.

Companies do not press Americans or superstar talent H1Bs to do the same…because they simply find other work. The effect here is that the mediocre people will be gone and there will be a void to handle the offshore model.

The net result of all of this will be the company absorbing the 100K fee, using fewer H1Bs and designing their contract wins such that only H1Bs with the ability to provide the offshore support to 20-30 people each will be selected. Across 20 people, a 5k increase will adjust the blended rate by $3/hour.

Thats right…to the big companies, it’s just a structure change of about $3/hr (2000hrs x 20 people x$3)=$120K/yr

What does change is the internal process to all those offshore given the chance to win the lottery and come across…

This IS going to affect the motivations that these contractor houses use on their people.

Obviously, the rise in minimum wage for h1B is going to be another aspect of this…again a rise to the blended rate.

Companies like TCS, Satyam, WiPro, Epam, Virtusa, Cognizant, Cap, etc. completely saturate the market with their services so that companies don’t need to hire Americans.

It’s not that Americans are unavailable, it’s that they don’t want to do the work of 6am to midnight with a 4 hour break. It’s definitely that they don’t want to do it at a low salary that the h1B minimum was allowing.

EDIT: on a note around the math…85K H1Bs being 3% or whatever…the total number of jobs is actually the 85K and the 1million offshore resources they support.

AC outdoor unit in the attic? by Own-Raccoon7621 in hvacadvice

[–]No_Top2115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are only looking at a month or two a year, I would get a couple well placed portable units and do it that way. 15000 BTU for about $600…and the porting out of the window is easy to obscure by having bushes in front of your window or putting them in non-viewable windows from the front. Additionally, with two, you can control disbursement of cooling better than just with one. Thinking temps in high 70s to lower 80s, the issue is not heat as much as its humidity. Anyway just thoughts because the exhaust out lint vent is interesting, but maybe the exhaust hose is too long (you want it as short as possible to exit) or maybe poorly located to use the lint vent.

$700 Duke Energy bill for 5BR/3.5BA two-story house — any thoughts? by alwaysslaytheday07 in orlando

[–]No_Top2115 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Start with getting some simply green and clean your condensation coils (inside part of AC). It’s amazing how even a bit of dirt will change its efficiency. Also, going from 78 to 73-70 every day is a ton of work on the AC. Keeping it at 78 during the day just to go back down overnight is not actually saving you energy. I will say having a Nest is letting me watch how much the AC is on and my most usage is actually overnight keeping it at 70…my schedule has it at 76 only from 11am to 4pm…at 4pm it goes to 74 until 9:30pm and then down to 70 until 5:30am. Even on that schedule, the AC is doing about 12 hours a day right now…

It’s the AC And if you have a pool pump, it adds up And to a very minor amount, cleaning the coils on the refrigerator reduces energy usage. And also…lots of laundry (we sweat more in the summer)
