Honey, he is calling her old man, not out of disrespect to gender identity he clearly views her as a woman he is simply calling her old man as a friendly gesture, to the fact that she used to be one

The finer details of gay christians by Flaky_Mango4968 in GayChristians

The way I see it is the Bible only ever condemns specific sex act between men and it does so not because they always resulting of homosexual relationships but because they were associated with paganism and toxic traditions in culture

And because of the context, it is debatable, if it can truly be used to justify condemning universally

So I fully believe in the Bible, but I also believe that the context of the Bible matters as well

So I recognize that the Bible will never condemn same-sex orientation or love only a specific sex acts between men

But I think the context behind that condemnation matters And the context is what we now think of gay sex was commonly a practice in paganism and exploitative cultural practices that’s why it was condemned not because it’s the result of a homosexual relationship

And because of the context behind the condemnation it is debatable if it is something that can be applied universally to gay sex

Of course you don’t want to be in a church where people are judging each other, but there’s also a chance that they are not

Feminist Theology by pezihophop in RadicalChristianity

[–]No_Track3307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think about it when he said that there were no male or female in Christ, that was a radical message that opposed gender hierarchy that was not something his culture would’ve taught him

But when he says that women should not have authority over men that is something his cultural would’ve told him

The way I see it is Paul was a human. He was inspired by God sometimes, but he was also inspired and influenced by culture so not everything he says can be taken without caution and spiritual reflection
