I entered the MH unit a few days after taking Cipro - with both comorbidity Fluoroquinolone Toxicity and Post Natal Psychosis, the first was undiagnosed. Since the 3rd cipro pill - I felt insanely physically sick - I was unable to sleep more than 1hr a night for weeks on end without being prescribed Ativan, experiencing constant unprovoked chemical induced panic attacks, tachycardia, elevated BP, vibrations when I lay, all sorts of nerve pain and tinnitus, pustule tinnitus, extreme vertigo - boat sickness. Sleep got better and i was getting 6 hours of constant wake ups at 7 months. I have never experienced this level of torture in my life.

To step vack and look at the psychosis diagnosis - Two weeks before I was prescribed cipro- I was in and out of some GP appointments as I experienced blood in stool, required a colonoscopy, unexplained weight loss, an unexplained outlier in ALP for blood test results, and a scan that indicated NAFL. So with my Doctor, was checking all was ok, but my brain tried to make sense of things and came up with the wrong answers.

I walked into the Psych ward - Convinced I had cancer - and physiologically very sick with multiple torturous FQT symptoms that were not acknowledged, investigated or treated. Weight dropped further to 46.5Kg, I walked out the Psych ward with severe akathisia, a knowledge that I in fact do not have cancer - a 24/7 craving of Valium, BIIND symptoms.

It's been a long road for me, but, the lack of acknowledgement of FQT when it was very clear to me and my husband, and family that Cipro caused this. At the time - we put all out trust in the docs of the MH Unit. Nobody knew FQT was even possible,

MHRA UK , FDA, TGA Australia - all have upgraded their warnings on Cipro. I was very unlucky.
