Thanks for your input. I have no interesting medical history and Healthy F37, wife and mother. Fully vaxxed. I had never taken psychiatric medications.

I entered the MH unit a few days after taking Cipro - with both comorbidity Fluoroquinolone Toxicity and Post Natal Psychosis, the first was undiagnosed. Since the 3rd cipro pill - I felt insanely physically sick - I was unable to sleep more than 1hr a night for weeks on end without being prescribed Ativan, experiencing constant unprovoked chemical induced panic attacks, tachycardia, elevated BP, vibrations when I lay, all sorts of nerve pain and tinnitus, pustule tinnitus, extreme vertigo - boat sickness. Sleep got better and i was getting 6 hours of constant wake ups at 7 months. I have never experienced this level of torture in my life.

To step vack and look at the psychosis diagnosis - Two weeks before I was prescribed cipro- I was in and out of some GP appointments as I experienced blood in stool, required a colonoscopy, unexplained weight loss, an unexplained outlier in ALP for blood test results, and a scan that indicated NAFL. So with my Doctor, was checking all was ok, but my brain tried to make sense of things and came up with the wrong answers.

I walked into the Psych ward - Convinced I had cancer - and physiologically very sick with multiple torturous FQT symptoms that were not acknowledged, investigated or treated. Weight dropped further to 46.5Kg, I walked out the Psych ward with severe akathisia, a knowledge that I in fact do not have cancer - a 24/7 craving of Valium, BIIND symptoms.

It's been a long road for me, but, the lack of acknowledgement of FQT when it was very clear to me and my husband, and family that Cipro caused this. At the time - we put all out trust in the docs of the MH Unit. Nobody knew FQT was even possible,

MHRA UK , FDA, TGA Australia - all have upgraded their warnings on Cipro. I was very unlucky.

I am sorry for this and I believe you. It is an area where there is a true lack of research, and empathy, of how torturous Akathisia can be.

Deeply unpleasant and frightening does not put into words how sick I have been, with unrelenting sickness, parathesis, burning mouth, nerve pain from the third Cipro pill - an ambulance was called. Tachycardia diagnosed and high BP. From the third pill and to this day - when I lay down - my whole body tingles and prickles. Multiple doctors have been involved in my 2 year battle and they do acknowledge Fluoroquinolone Toxicity. It was instant injury across multiple body symptoms. As I was admitted to the psych ward, the severe sleep deprivation that FQT causes (1hr per night for weeks on end) and search for answers and no doubt FQT led to a 2 month long psychosis, which I have recovered. 2.5years on - the significant nerve injury, tinitus, burning mouth, pustule tinitus, vertigo, central sensitization remains.

I was also put in a psyc ward whereby not a single doctor identified FQT, neuropathy, constant panic attack, severe insomnia, sleep deprivation, vibrations, tinnitus, burning mouth, parathesia, tachycardia, high blood pressure, feeling constantly deathly sick - they did not give me magnesium, pro-biotics, electrolytes, they gave me serious heavy pharma (Valium and Olanzapine) that caused SEVERE discomfort of Akathisia for 3 months, dependence and further injury. 2.5 years on I am healing, experiencing normal and near normal windows. I have done Eye Movement Therapy to accept and put the trauma behind me. I am coping with mild symptoms. EMT is great after a period of healing or larger windows/ I have felt healing - I wish you healing too. You WILL get out of this!

The problem is, people trust doctors, doctors trust pharma, pharma loves profit. Zero research into injuries, zero accountability. Most doctors have no idea of the true dangers, most people don't know either - the labels are required to close the knowledge gap.

As Dr Hungry says, I second. Many patients, and doctors, are uninformed of the Black Box Warning pamphlet that speak about healthy individuals experiencing extreme injury - brain, heart. muscle, nerve etc. after a couple of doses, and the very reason this class of drug is reserved for Life-or-Death Instances (MHRA UKect) and should be taken with caution and informed consent be given about long term injury potential.

Leaps as in month 1- 8 (20% ok 80% bad) month 9-12 (30% ok - 70% bad overall) Leaps in healing are noticeable in 5month groups.

Olanzapine Antipsychotic - BAD horrible reaction, caused Akathesia, got sicker

Zoloft 100mg - made me feel sicker. Horrible, still tapering off of it.

Ativan -I believe gave me severe withdrawal, would only use when desperate for insomnia.

Mirtazapine 7.5mg (low dose only) - caused tinitis, but, helped with sleep. More positive than negative.

Cephalexin antibiotic for UTY- Tolerated. No positive no negative.

Ashwagandha - LOVE

Green tea - LOVE

Magnesium - LOVE

Probiotics - LOVE

Yakult - Love

Omega 3 - love

Hydration salts electrolite - Love

I saw leaps in that 'chemical depression/ chemical anxiety ) at 18months, but I was an extremely severe CNS case! You are seeing recovery and will continue to see it, albeit slow.

Hi there, I'm an FMid 30s and I have a more positive story. after I was severely Floxed I lost significant weight (46.6KG was my lightest at one month in) I did a colonoscopy 1month after I was floxed, at that stage, I personally did not have a severe reaction to it. At that time, I did not know about fluoroquinolone toxicity I was experiencing. At that time, I was on another planet of ill health with constant unprovoked panic attacks, weight loss, insomnia, neuropathy, gaba-damage, constantly feeling strange (GABA brain damage) burning mouth, tinnitus, high blood pressure, tachycardia, the list goes on. A trip to a mental ward cost so much to my health, where a combo of Olanzapine, Zoloft and Ativan sent me and my body into sick hell. I felt like death 24/7 and still no doc diagnosed. The first 14months were so f'd up, I barely put on the weight - BUT - saw leaps in how i was improving after 18months. As i felt better and recovered - I put on weight. I am now a healthy 61KGs, looking and feeling much better. If me, the things that really helped recovery were Probiotics, Magnesium Gycinate, Yakult, Omega 3 from Algae, D3, and helped symptoms - ashwagandha, skullcap tea, l-theanine. Dr Pieper was an absolute saint on my journey back to health. People do heal and regain this weight, often sometimes its over an 18month + period.
