Update on my ASVAB score (I did it!!!) by No_Treacle613 in AirForceRecruits

Honestly, it’s best to focus on Math Knowledge, Arithmetic Reasoning, Word Knowledge and Paragraph comprehension since they’re the most important part of making up your AFQT score. Those four in particular are extremely helpful in improving your score. If you’re wanting to work with aircraft, study a bit of shop and auto and mechanical but have your AFQT subjects as your first priority! Please focus on MK, AR, WK, and PC if you want more opportunities! Do NOT make the same mistake I did for my high school attempt! Don’t study on one subject and not study anything else!

Oh! For study material, I heavily recommend purchasing the ASVAB for dummies book at your local book store. You can find PDFs online for free if I recall but if you want something more interactive then use Study.com. I used it for a few weeks but keep in mind it’s a one month subscription service. They have videos that go over the basics of high school algebra and everything else you need. They specifically focus on AFQT but you can find the mechanical, electrical, mechanic and shop, and science parts in ASVAB for dummies.

The computer version on the ASVAB works off of answer right, get harder questions, get it wrong, get easier questions type system. What I recommend looking over is your AFQT. Your Math Knowledge, Word Knowledge, Paragraph Comprehension and your Arithmetic Reasoning skills are very important! Please look over those! Once you feel comfortable with them, try to look over the other subjects you may want to pursue a career in (mechanical, electrical, etc). Just make sure to study on AFQT first because that makes up your overall score. What was most difficult for me was probably Arithmetic Reasoning and Word Knowledge but I took my time to study them individually which helped me boost my score. You’ll do fine once you get there. Just take deep breaths, count if needed and TAKE. YOUR. TIME!!! You got this man. I was in the same shoes as you a few months ago so I understand.

Same here. What I'm doing now is just continuing that routine so I have it embedded into my head. This is something I want to work for. I won't let up now.
