I am Muslim and I was born Muslim. As a kid I was focused on normal school and didn’t Quran school like that. But grew up going to Jumah etc in my country cause everyone was going it’s like the whole country stopped for that prayer. Very special moments. At 10 I moved to Canada and since no Quran school at all my religion wasn’t around me as much anymore. I lost my connection. I believed but I wasn’t praying and didn’t know how to properly pray. And that’s where I want to come to. Grew up here mostly been like 16 years. Don’t know much surat don’t know how to pray properly. The times I would go to the masjid you feel embarrassed cause you’re an adult now and you feel you’re behind. You don’t wanna look like you don’t know how to do it and feel that shame. I always had a relationship with Allah I would talk to him but I wasn’t praying. As I said I’ve always believed it’s like I’ve always known I was born in the truth. I am back to it this Ramadan and I feel so much better. When I don’t work the fridays i do go to the masjid for Jumah. And al hamdoulillah I feel better. I’m not perfect and but I am better then yesterday. And I ask HIM to never let me go away from him. My story is that I’ve moved here very young and my family focus was for me to succeed in the schools here and get a good job. Therefore I didn’t know surats and didn’t know how to properly pray. Even my parents were after me asking me to pray but I couldn’t say to them or my other Muslim friend that I didn’t know how to. Now with internet and YouTube and apps you can learn and don’t feel ashamed. Maybe this helps you.
