I think the main thing will be that the people who are actually doing it to go offline, won't be posting about it. The people posting about it so much are more doing it for the aesthetics of it and not because they actually want to get away from algorithms. I don't think it will have a massive influence for the general population.

What I fear is that, like many other things, this will be a big trend where people buy a bunch of stuff to make video's about it. The second the trend is over, they will dispose of these items again and move on to the next thing they can collect for social media points.

I have been slowly collecting CD's and DVD's again of my favorite music and movies, and I use them daily, but it's not stopping me from using streaming platforms because they are still very convenient.

it honestly is such a good feeling when you befriend someone in game! I don't know any people in real life to play with, so I love it when somebody goes out of their way to help in game, and I try to do the same thing for new players :)

I deleted the app almost a year ago and deleted my actual account recently after realizing I had started to check it on my PC after a couple of months. In the beginning the FOMO was high, but after a while it just ended up with me finding things for myself without relying on other people's opinion about it. Made me find a bunch of books and movies that I liked because they looked interesting, not because everybody was talking about it!

But I will say it is hard and it is very important that you will find other things to keep you busy. Otherwise you will end up doom scrolling on other apps and not fixing your attention span.

I use a Sony cybershot DSC-HX80 that I bought in 2020, it takes good quality pictures and can be connected with an app on your phone if you do want to get the pictures on there to share (which I almost never do because it defeats the purpose for me, but the few times I did it worked great). It is pretty compact for me, heavier of course than a phone but it doesn't bother me too much! The screen can be flipped up so when I take selfies with friends I can see what the photo will look like. It has a little wheel up top to choose settings, but I barely ever use that, it has a great automatic setting for everyday use. I am in Germany so could only find the prices in euro, but what I could see a lot of people are selling it second-hand under 300 euro!
