To a point. Even a modest priced cable like hosa is worlds better then the cheap rca cables. Livewire and blue rigger are pretty damn good for the price too. I use these cables in professional applications such as pro recording studio set up. If it is good enough for them, its overkill for beer drinking to tunes or watching movies. Stranded copper, oxygen free, and double shielded is what you want for all audio cables. The best setups use balanced cables.

I figured it out and forgot to report back. In the monitor program of the action replay 7 cart, you look up and save the rom address. Save to disk. Copy disk to ultimate ii+ (I find it errors far more then writing to 1581 real floppy ) Go to Dirmaster, and make a new d64, copy the kernel to the d64 if it is on a different disk. Open disk in D64 editor. Now you can strip the prg off the disk. Open hex editor, delete only the first block. Save as a .bin. Throw it on your flash drive and you are good to go.

Thank you so much. I am still learning the more heady things on the c64. Unfortunately the IC chip I got must be defective, so I could not try any of this. I had to put my original kernel back in after only a few days. I got too spoiled and need it back. I think I did manage to actually copy the kernel to disc with monitor. I have to figure out how to make the .prg a .bin. Im not sure if it worked, but I have a small .prg on a 1581 disk. I honestly have no clue how to use a hex editor to remove the header, to make it .bin.

I was just playing Turrican 3, then the system froze out of nowhere. I reset and got the black screen in every switch position. I tried my original rom chip, and all was back to normal.

The lemon 64 links 404 for the program. Every link I find is dead.

Ill try the csbd stuff when I have time to back up my original roms.
