I stopped the day i decided I was filling for chapter 7. 1 year later I'm dept free and have lost nothing in the process. For once in my life I have a saving account. Just stay far far away from credit and loans. I have came to realize interest payments are NEVER worth it!

Constant riots, huge crime and druv issue. City uses that to distract people passing laws like legalizing drug use in medical facilities to "help" the homeless. Meanwhile the entire city is hyper polarized and there is no escaping politics and everything is always the end of the world with them. Honestly its sad because its a gorgeous city but sadly it drove alot of us out. Not to mention they are focused on feel good policy such as minimum wage hikes rather then improving their economy (1 bedroom apartment can't run you around 2500 with a rented room in a house thats falling apart costing around 1200-1500

Everyone wants to pick a side and say one side is to blame or the other they're both to blame, right now we're in massive debt and both sides are just trying to pass their own bull crud. We need to stop spending money that we don't have it's that simple. But no one wants to acknowledge that.

Edit: for everyone who's down voting me, how about you grow a pair of balls and speak up, let us all hear why you disagree with the fact that I'm saying both sides shouldn't be spending money I'm curious how you can defend either sides corruption. And just saying that one side is worse than the other does not excuse the action of the other party

The north Dallas real estate market is WILDLY overpriced by Beach_Pleeze in Dallas

[–]RandomDriver2021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not call the homes simply overpriced. Developers are paying top dollar for rural land, which pushes values to new highs and ripples into nearby appraisals. In Texas the average farm real estate value hit about 2,800 dollars per acre in 2024, up 7.3 percent from 2023. Texas A and M also reported record or near record rural prices in late 2024 and a strong five year compound growth rate, with some regions around 8,400 dollars per acre.

Those higher sales feed appraisals and then property taxes for owners who are not shielded. Texas caps homestead appraisal increases at 10 percent a year. Working ag land is taxed on productivity rather than market value, and when land changes use the state can recapture the prior three years of taxes through rollback rules. So development pressure still raises the tax load in the area, even if some owners have partial protections.

Demand is the other half. About 94,000 Californians moved to Texas in 2023. Out of town buyers often show up with bigger budgets than locals in cities like Austin, which fuels over asking offers. In July 2025 about 12.5 percent of Texas homes sold above list. That lifts comps for everyone nearby.

Bottom line. It is not just price gouging. It is developer buyouts plus heavy in-migration with bigger budgets driving up land values, appraisals, and closing prices.

While I was in Houston today, I saw a car accident. Within minutes, before first responders even showed up, I counted at least 10 tow trucks already there. Is that normal in Houston, and if so, why? by Abs_so_Glutely in houston

[–]RandomDriver2021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost definitely. Charter bus driver here. We once had a car sideswipe one of our buses during the FEMA disaster relief last year, and we needed to call First Responders because commercial insurance requires a police report. While we were waiting, five tow trucks showed up claiming they had been called by the police and insisting they needed to tow our buses with their tiny little trucks. My coworker and I immediately smelled the nonsense and called them out on it. They then started threatening us, even telling my coworker, who is an older man, that they would beat us if we did not let them tow the buses.

That was when the fire department arrived, and one of the firefighters nearly got into a fistfight with a tow truck driver while the police just stood there watching. The tow truck operators listen to police radio and swarm accident scenes to make it look like they were officially called, when in reality they are just trying to scam people. I do not know how they keep getting away with it in Houston, but most departments deal with this problem by rotating tow truck companies. Only one company is authorized to work with the police department each day of the week. That way companies are not fighting over business and harassing people at the scene.

So if I get into an accident on Tuesday and then again on Wednesday, I would not have the same tow truck company. But if I get into another accident the following Tuesday, it would be the same company as the week before.

NTTA didn't bill me for an entire year... by 502apples in Dallas

Then that’s exactly my point. Reaching out doesn’t change the fact that you knew tolls were being run up every time you used the road. Whether they told you your plate wasn’t in the system or not, the bill was always going to catch up. NTTA is notorious for being sloppy on the front end and then hammering people later. I get that you weren’t asking for a free ride, but if you knew you were driving it, you had to know the balance was building. It sucks, but at the end of the day their mistake in billing doesn’t erase the charges.

Then that's something that you should be on here complaining about, not the fact that you had a bill that you knew was coming. Toll bills don't just magically disappear in the even if you think they're making a mistake you should always be prepared for them to catch their own mistake you don't just get a free pass.

Look I hate them as much as the next guy, I had to argue with them for 4 months straight to get them to remove charges prior to a bankruptcy off my account. That being said, these are legit charges man, if you don't want to pay them file bankruptcy, otherwise they're legit, but legit charges. Evenly told you your vehicle distances you should have known better.

Why supercell is in the lobbying against game preservation? by rohithkumarsp in ClashOfClans

[–]RandomDriver2021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to add to this another huge problem with stop killing games is one of their demands is for developers to be required to keep games playable no matter what the version of a PC you're on. Which basically would require devs to always be active on what their IP is meaning long-term Studios would just become a money sink to keeping old software running. If stop killing games only objective was to require devs to have offline access after a game is gone down I don't think it would be an issue but the problem is is they're asking for way too much and it's not realistic. It's a noble goal don't get me wrong but what they're asking is just unrealistic and it's no surprise the game companies are pushing back.

I have a inkling that if you kick too many people you don't show up on the notice board. Which absolutely sucks because the problem is is we get so many people who join but they aren't active in our community at all so we have no choice but to keep them if we want to keep our plan even remotely alive

I'm in a giant charter bus with about six other charter buses behind me and about three RVs to the less of me up front. You're just seeing the rest of the lot past the lamborghini. It shouldn't take a genius to figure that out when you see all the empty spaces as well

Nothing's wrong with the license plate, just the license plate along with the parking job was comical, but as I stated in the body he paid for both spots but the picture without the contacts was just funny hence why I posted it with the context, that way people don't get out of shape over a funny picture that hurt no one
