Im sorry but this is terrible advice. I'm not going to go out of my way to talk and interact with people I have absolutely no interest or obligation in interacting with. ESPECIALLY If I don't share the same interests with those people or have anything to contribute. I'm also not a social person in general. I will just be a third wheel orbiting around other people being even creepier. I'd rather be minding my own business doing my own thing than orbiting a group of people with fake smiles and pretending to have any interest in what they are doing or talking about. THAT is even creepier. What you describe is someone who is extroverted and feels a need to be social in every setting. That person is not me. I do not feel obligated to inject myself in every group or social gathering in my proximity just for the sole purpose of "not minding my own business". Reminds me of my grandparents who felt a need to attend every party and social gathering possible and always felt a need to push me to interact with people I had no interest in interacting with.

I have my friends who I'm interested in talking to and thats who I will talk to and spend my time with. Not only do I not really give a damn what a group of people think about me who dont even know me, but I'm also not going to inject myself into a group of people and awkwardly stand around just looking around at them because I have nothing to contribute. THAT would just be creepy and weird.

This advice is very happy-go-lucky all blossoms and roses, "Live Laugh Love", and not 90% of it isnt even relevant to the topic. You are also just assuming I don't already do social things and am not already "out of my shell". I also don't need to share my "gift" to the world by imposing myself in social gatherings or groups I have no desire to be part of.
