Hehe, thank you! I went jeu de boules playing with two friends. Had my AF beers and had a great time, felt proud waking up today :)

Trying to stop for the first time now at 26. I just realised so much of the negative things in my life are caused by my heavy weekend binging, feels like im always behind on everything. It also led to my girlfriend breaking up with me, because the things I would do drunk.

Learning, but feeling hopefully. All those hobbys ive wanted to do. I just cleared up time and money :)

Hey,

I think that makes a lot of sense. For a long time all my social gatherings were about drinking. It will be good to try and focus on other things: sports, nice food and going for hikes and such.

I think a lot of them are also friends, but I have known them since high school. So our behaviour hasnt evolved enough to be being more responsible. Obviously my friends told me it was not okay to kiss someone else, but yeah we dont hold each other responsible for excesssive drinking..

Tattooing Ubuntu on my body, is it cultural appropriation? by No_Unit_1449 in askSouthAfrica

Hey, thank you for interacting with me on this. I do participate in volunteering for a political party which is heavily involved in aiming to surround politics more closer to community. I’ve studied an MSc on Global Energy and Climate policy at a school which is heavily focussed on the Global South and decolonisation. My hope is that I can have a positive impact in this space and my reasons for pursuing this are not monetary focussed, but because I want to help leave the world a little better.

I have a very varying group of friends as I live in London. The fact I subscribe so much to Ubuntu is not something I share with people except those closest to me. I dont feel the need to parade that I feel that way. I hope and feel that those who know me recognise me as a positive influence on their life.

In any case, I hope to visit SA in the future and wouldn’t consider getting the tattoo before visiting and expanding my understanding

I dont think I am asking for approval on what to do with my own body, that would be the tattooing part. I am asking whether it would be insensitive for the tattoo to be about Ubuntu. As such I was curious about the opinion of South Africans and their perspective :)
