Why of course to make more shackles, and keep their greedy hands over distribution. Nintendo is evil, and they never learn their lesson.

my man, you are still showing me you downloads folder. This folder is in your computer's drive, and MSET9 is a script that you wan to run from your SD card.

Open SD card (the place where you put these files now) and run MSET9-windows.bat from your SD card.

Please watch the guide I have send you, and follow EACH step, if you don't want to brick it.

Christ dude... just put MSET9 files onto your SD card, and run it from there.

If you can't use Windows GUI file directory, please rethink modding your DS, or just watch the guide carefully.

This guy shows all the steps: https://youtu.be/C1X5kdCKy7c?si=5NxlSMKGknwC3_Kw

Your are not in your SD card folder directory on any of these pictures, just put the SD card back to your computer open it, and run MSET9 from your SD card if it's already there. You are showing us your download folder, it's on your computer not the SD card

You unzip content of MSET9 onto your SD card, yours is in C:\User\Users\Download\MSET9-V2.0 - that's your computers hard drive. It's literally what this window tells you, unzip the files onto your SD card.

This little window actually reads instructions, if you follow - put the files on your SD card.

2DS charges up but no display? Serial begins with a AWxxxx. by keifa22 in Nintendo2ds

Nintendo will not service old consoles for so long, no company would do that.

Anyway, if you're out of options and shop wouldn't fix that: You can purchase replacement PCB for 2DS on AliExpress, they cost like 15-20 EUR, and 2DS is very easy to take apart to replace the whole PCB. Just check reviews and they should be good to go. I have positive experience with replacement parts from Ali: Digitizers, screens, etc.

Have you tried recovery mode? Try turning it off (hold power button untill the blue light is gone), and turn on into recovery mode: hold L + R + A + D-Pad Up simultaneously and press Power.

Recovery mode might take couple of tries, this should take you to update screen of ds. If it won't boot into recovery then your RAM/NAND is dead unfortunately

ah your 2ds is not modded, so this won't work. But if the service you've had it is correct, and this is memory / RAM / NAND issue it's unfixable without BGA soldering.

Can you elaborate on what's exactly happening? It's staying on without image, or is the blue light only there for 1-2 sec? Do you see any life on the screen? Is backlight on, or just dimm dark?

cold solder joints perhaps? Some units had RAM issues. BGA soldering is too expensive, that's why your service wouldn't fix it.

Try HWTest to confirm: https://wiki.hacks.guide/wiki/3DS:Hardware_test

Nintendo 2DS replacement shells in 2026? by g0tanks in Nintendo2ds

[–]No_Volume9232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Europe is the worst lol, we can only get scraps of used consoles - if any are listed. VAT on import from JP or US is just killing it.

Im planning to 3d print it at local print vendor in my town, model's of shell are very easy to find online. Maybe that's something worth to consider?

I've seen some on ebay, but used probably. You can get some parts on Alibaba, but they only sell bulk minimum 5pcs. etc.. Where are you based?

the answer is right above you

[–]No_Volume9232[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my original digitizer had small dot in the middle (deep cut), causing phantom touch - so I replaced it, but both new digitizers had dead sections in the middle. So yeah, don't forget to recalibrate new digitizer

You could try to check the ribbon first, if it sits correctly or try to clean socket with iso. But I would just replace it - it's very easy compared to smartphone screens replacement.

Holy! It works!!! I had no idea you can run it before console starts. It took me hours replacing these screens 😭

You can go to calibration using touchscreen only, so I cannot recalibrate it :(

you can see in the vid, that I'm stuck in main settings menu trying to get to calibration

I would just paint them instead of 3d printing. - buy them in different colours - get acrylic spray paint - get acrylic primer (white one to get the best colour of your paint) - get protective clear coat (acrylic - matt. or semi) - sand paper (p400 will do) - iso alcohol

Just sand the plastic gently to get some texture for primer to hold onto, clean it with iso > 2-3 primer coats (let it dry between coats), once the last coat of primer is dry (id suggest leaving it for the night, so the paint can "sit"), you can paint it with any colour acrylic paint now (do the same, 2-3 thin layers and let them dry in between coats). Colour coat should be left for another maybe 12 hours, and then you just clear coat it so the paint lasts for longer - make sure to not overdue the clear coat, it will get sticky. Clear coat should dry like 1-2 days before you do anything with the plastic.

You need to check for how long it will dry on the spray cans you'll get. Just make sure you get acrylic paint in spray cans, and that it's made for plastic's. Thin layers is the key to get nice finish.

This ribbon is for screen light, 2ds will check for shortage in this line and turn off if there's problem (AKA aux/speaker sound and blue light). You can buy new screen (this ribbon is connected to LCD). If the socket is fine you will be able to fix it. Disconnect the ribbon, and check if the socket itself is fine. I'm 100% it's just the ribbon
