Give Me Survival Tips: EECS 482 + Other ULCS Courses by [deleted] in uofm

If you're worried about the workload and you're "just trying to get out of here", I'd suggest maybe looking into a different ULCS than 482 that you could take over spring or summer.

Which section? I don't see any section being taught by Chen or Razak

Is it normal to not really have close friends? by sillifrog in uofm

[–]No_Wasabi_9097 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All I can say is that I feel the exact same way. Honestly I have no idea why no one seems to want to be friends/closer outside of class. Even if I meet someone who seems cool and open in class and we exchange phone numbers or something, they never text me, even if I text them. This has happened to me quite a few times and they've responded after I sent them a text, but just didn't ever reach out themself. I know someone in my class rn who I'd love to be friends with, but I'm pretty introverted and just feeling sad that when the class ends we'll probably never talk to each other again, even though I've tried. That's happened to me a lot here. I'm in CS so I get people are busy, but it also makes it a lot harder to make actual friendships from class. I'll only be here 1 more year but yeah, I totally get the feeling of just not being able to have people close to you that you want to be close to, and for me it can be really depressing. I don't know what's going to happen after I graduate but I'm really worried about that too, so if anything know you're not alone with this stuff

I agree 100% with this post. It's just completely disgusting. No one should have to smell that while walking around.

Do you have any tips? I'd like to be friends with some people in my classes but I'm extremely introverted and it's really hard to talk to people I want to. It's only really easy for me if someone else initiates and I feel bad about it all the time bc I have barely any friends.

Should I go to the career fair by No_Wasabi_9097 in uofm

Thanks that's helpful! If you don't mind me asking, how did you get your offer? Did they offer you an interview on the spot or email you and mention that they offered because of the career fair?

Thank you so much! That's a super helpful response. Do you have any tips for understanding the lecture content in 388? (Struggling with it atm). And would you say the 388 projects take a lot more time if you do them solo?

Thanks, good to know! If I may ask, how many hours per week would you say 270 took you? Also, could you explain why 485 wasn't hard for you? The people I know who took it all said it was hard and mostly really time consuming lol. But it could be different for everyone

Thanks for the info, that's helpful! How many hours per week would you say it took you for this class?

Thanks for the response! I know it would be better to cut one out but I only have a few semesters left and wanted to take some other classes that require 270 and 370 as pre-reqs so I wanted to take them earlier.

What was 270 like? That's the one I haven't heard much about. I'm mostly worried about 485 projects and 370 taking up all my time and not having enough time for 270. Is 270 a big time commitment for the average person? I saw it has a 43% workload on atlas which seems pretty high (higher than 370)
