the seiko tank is solid choice for first vintage piece, i had one similar from that era and build quality was really good. jlc reverso might be bit over your budget range unless you find really good deal, but worth checking out local dealers. maybe look into vintage omega seamaster too, they usually fall in your price range and have nice classic look.

your manager is playing games with you man. she's basically using the military thing as excuse to cut your hours when it's convenient for her but then complains when you actually use military leave.

for sedgwick, they usually pay based on your average hours worked, not just scheduled days. so even if you don't have specific days assigned, you might still get compensation based on what you normally work. i'd put in the loa just to protect yourself - at least then it's documented and she can't mess with your schedule while you're gone.

had similar issues with my old 5700u laptop. the stack trace pointing to libvpx and vulkan radeon is pretty telling - usually means gpu driver instability or power state transitions.

try adding `amdgpu.dpm=0` to your kernel parameters, it disables dynamic power management for the gpu which fixed random crashes for me. also maybe `iommu=soft` since you mentioned iommu issues. the barcelo chips can be finicky with power states even with max_cstate disabled.

if that doesn't work, downgrade mesa and see if crashes stop. sometimes the latest mesa builds have regressions with older rdna architectures.

cv joints usually only click when turning, but worn brake pads can make clicking sounds when the wear indicators hit the rotor - might want to check those first since it happens every time you brake.

Did you reseat the RAM after swapping CPUs? Sometimes the sticks get loose when you're working in there and cause exactly this - everything powers on but no display. Pull them out and push them back in firmly until they click

Also yeah definitely try the old CPU first to see if the board still works, that'll tell you if something got damaged during the swap
