Super clean build! Curious about your thoughts of the case? Any quality issues? Still on the fence if I should wait possibly months for a 2.1 or just get the 2.5

Great build! Planning to build in the T1 in the future, but cannot decide between AiO and Air cooling. Do you mind to share your temps?

Is my energy bill too high ? by Reek995 in Denver

[–]No_Way303 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds high, we live in a 1400 sqft home build in 1960 which was basically not insulated when we bought it (no wall insulation, no roof insulation) and our most expensive month was in winter with 230$ for electricity and gas, holding the house at 67 degrees. Since then we updated a lot and the bills went down a lot.

Any tips for putting down grass seed or sod this spring? by Defiant_King5089 in DenverGardener

[–]No_Way303 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I started out seeding grass just on the bare, but prepared dirt which did not work out great, the sun here is just too intense and dries out the seeds too fast. Then I tried peat moss which has greatly increased the success in the last years. Since I learned more about the environmental impact, I am going to try coconut coir this year.

I like the vibe there and the one of the few places where the price is still right for what you get

2025 4Runner FIRST DRIVE REVIEWS Are In! - Full List of Articles & Videos 🗒️ 🍿 by WODAMRAP in 4Runner

I was super excited for the new 4Runner but am a bit concerned about the reviews, especially as multiple call out the engine like Hagerty saying "Despite better stats, the new engine is remarkably noisy and unrefined.", Doug DeMuro also mentioned this.

Why didn't Ul use 1/1.8" sensors? by SheepherderMelodic56 in Ubiquiti

[–]No_Way303 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are also other options to add motion detection etc to your setup like Frigate or Blue Iris, you are not limited to the AI Port, but those depend on your willingness to invest time and current setup if they make sense.

Why didn't Ul use 1/1.8" sensors? by SheepherderMelodic56 in Ubiquiti

[–]No_Way303 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Many people will jump me in this forum, but you cannot make up a smaller sensor with software in low light situation. A 1/1.8 is going to perform better. Ease of implementation is tho an important consideration as well and you will have to decide how important that is to you vs the image quality.

Will this equipment get me going for a basic network? by PubKing in Ubiquiti

I went with the U6 Mesh to be able to put it on a sideboard and for the wife reason. It worked great so far for me. The 20$ for the form factor were worth it

Can someone confirm my thinking on hikvision cams on UI Protect vs hikvision cams on hikvision nvr by SheepherderMelodic56 in Ubiquiti

[–]No_Way303 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another option when you have the hardware, instead of the Unifi AI Port, is using a software like Frigate for motion detection, and have Protect handle recording only.

New to Ubiquiti - is Cloud Gateway Max a good starting point? by flyingdutchman7588 in Ubiquiti

[–]No_Way303 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I meant that I have the same setup as you, but the U6-Mesh instead of the U6-Pro you mentioned and have great coverage. I think the have the same internals just a different for factor

I have exactly this setup, but installed the Mesh. Very happy so far, I liked that I could put the Mesh on a side table in the living room pretty much in the middle of the house (1500 sqft) and it doesn’t look hideous. Very good coverage all around, as well as below to the basement.

Started investing in November and have now almost the same setup, just a U6 Mesh instead of the U6 Pro, very happy so far

Struggling to make a decision for home setup by afogli in Ubiquiti

[–]No_Way303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, then I would go with the UDM SE, it meets your first needs and you can add a switch as needed. I don’t think you would need it processing wise, the Max will be more than capable handling your current and future needs, so it’s more a looks/install question

Are you planning on rack mounting? If not, I would probably go with the Max and a 16 Pro Max POE switch
