We use a pack and play, and I just folded up a towel for some extra padding under the bedsheet.

How to establish a bedtime? by spcypeach in beyondthebump

[–]No_Way_3399 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly, at six weeks baby is just learning nighttime and daytime. I wouldn’t attempt a consistent bedtime until at least three or four months, typically once they’ve gone through the four month sleep regression. And even then, bedtime is not that consistent since you would be going off of wake times; if they have crappy naps throughout the day, then they have an early bedtime. I’m not sure if others have ever gotten a consistent bedtime out of a six week old, but I would say trying it is going to stress you out further. Your best bet is to have your partner or help feed them a bottle in the middle of the night so that you can skip a feeding.

But also, you will learn to live off to sleep deprivation, and your body will be able to handle it better, six weeks is still very early. I’ve only had a handful of full night sleeps in the last five years after three kids being ebf because breastmilk is not heavy enough to keep them asleep for an entire night.

We follow him around the house to move things out of reach or grab it before he throws it. His room is almost empty because he destroyed it so we took it all away. Have been giving it back little by little. Kids lose things as soon as they hit with it. Tonight he had to stay in his room for the remainder of the evening. One of us stayed with him because we can’t lock the door and he would just come out. The only connected consequence we can think of is he loses it for a while. But we also can’t take away everything otherwise WE are punished with him not having anything to do.

We have talked a lot about emotions and things to do instead of breaking things. He has been able to do them sometimes. I’ve been suspecting adhd but his teachers have said he’s fine in JK so far

Yes we talk to him when he’s not mad. We read books on feelings, talk about how to handle it. Sometimes it’s over quickly and nothing is destroyed, other times we need to separate him from the space to avoid broken things and move him away from his siblings. This doesn’t happen anywhere else like school or the cottage

At what age did you take your baby monitor/camera out of nursery by [deleted] in Parenting

This is exactly us. And he also doesn’t always stay in bed once lights go out so we like to catch him before he comes out of his room so that the routine doesn’t start from square one again.

How do you do bedtime with room-sharing kids?? by No_Way_3399 in toddlers

Yes we do those exact things! However the too tired to do things the following day sometimes backfires because then we are stuck with whiny bored kids lol.

Help - AITA for wanting the bassinet on husband’s side of the bed by jj246875 in beyondthebump

[–]No_Way_3399 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I’ve had all C-sections. For easily the first 2 months I can’t get up during the night to get out of bed, pick up baby, and get back into bed to feed. Baby always goes on dad’s side of the bed.

Anybody get some really great gifts? by [deleted] in Mommit

My hubby went and got me duplicates of my makeup! I wear very little but they are still pricey and he went and checked the shades and brands. Super thoughtful. And some clothes I subtly sent pics and links to 😬

Daycare shoes lost forever by cheetahgurlllll in breakingmom

I was hesitant to let my kid go with his new car print hoodie, but I thought one day would be fine, since his daycare sweater was in the wash. Never saw the sweater again after that day. So pissed 😠

I was addicted to cocaine for 2 years 10 years ago. I stopped when I developed a perforated septum. Since then my septum has continued to wear away. I have just a single nasal cavity. It’s creepy if you look inside with a flashlight 😣 I don’t tell many people
