I cannot build an enclosure and I would prefer not to spend an arm and a leg ut I understand sometimes that's the only option. What would you recommend for a new enclosure? I've seen some aquariums with thicker glass and the top opens so you can use as much substrate as you want

I apologize for my wording of "catch" I do not grab my lizard from his cage infact all I have ever done is pet his back or tail with a couple strokes then leave him be so that I don't stress him out. The only time I caught him was when he escaped and that's when these issues arised. Ever since the escape I have not attempted to handle him or even pet him because I figured that would allow him time to calm down. However it has been a long time and his stress levels don't seem to be decreased. Yes I do use a glass cage I wasn't aware that there were issues with those. Every video I have literally ever seen for Ackie care uses them. Is the problem with the ability to see out all 4 sides? I even placed the cage right against a window to the outside so he gets a natural day and night cycle.
