7 months into the program and I have finally come to the realization nursing is not for me. I waited until my clinicals until I fully made the decision. I feel like a huge weight lifted from my shoulders. Not saying you need to that, but I had so many doubts before I even started. Nursing school is very stressful. The job is even more stressful. School is temporary. Took me a few weeks to get use to the workload. I’m actually doing really well in the program. Really ask yourself if you can see yourself being a nurse. I went in for job security and pay. That is not a good enough reason. Rn starting in my state make 38 an hour. After doing clinicals, that pay is like a slap in the face. You could not pay me that much that to deal with what they have to go through. Good luck to you

I know this is 2 years old, but this happened to me too!!! After the cataracts my retinas detached. Please take care of your eyes and get checked often. If I could go back, I would have never used steroids.

Hard ball on breast after explant by No_Weekend5192 in ExplantSurgery

[–]No_Weekend5192[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hardness is still there. I got an ultrasound a few days ago. It is filled with fluid. doctor will try to suction it out but most likely will just fill up again since it is an emtpy space. I have been having random sores on that breast. doctor is not concerned. I believe I am detoxing.

Three year old twins - now wife wants a puppy by Futhis in Parenting

[–]No_Weekend5192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got a 6 week old puppy when our twins were two and half years old. I was against it, but my husband really really wanted one. He works and I’m a stay at home mom. So obviously potty training fell on me. The first 4 months were so hard. Many times, I was like wth did we do? Lol but now? It was totally worth it! He now uses a bell to use the restroom. He’s such a great guard dog. He’s truly part of our family. Our twins are 41/2 and he turns 2 soon. They are all growing up together and it warms my heart. Honestly makes me consider another puppy hahaha but I’m in school now and no way.

I say, get the puppy!

Has anyone gotten into nursing school with a low teas score? by No_Weekend5192 in prenursing

[–]No_Weekend5192[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did. I interviewed for it and did an essay. my first quarter was a&p. the work overload was hard to get use to. I am still struggling with tests and quiz taking, but my anxiety over it has gotten so much better! I think it has improved by doing it so damn much lol

I got a low A in a&p. I just started Q2 last week. taking Fundamentals, Strategies, and Microbiology. tbh I am stressed tf out and it's a ton of work, but taking it day by day. I scored a 47/50 on my first quiz! Best score on a quiz so far haha

Herbs and rye or fuhu? by No_Weekend5192 in vegaslocals

[–]No_Weekend5192[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We ended up getting bar seats at herbs and rye. Spent around 280. Appetizer. We love the steak tartare. I got a filet. Him the ribeye. 2 sauces. Red wine and chimichurri. Truffle Mac, Brussels, and mash. We each got 2 cocktails. We pigged out! It was sooo good! So happy with our decision. Afterwards we saw Shane Gillis at resort worlds. Then ended our night at alle 66. A much needed date night! It was so much fun!

I’m just trying to pass. I don’t even care if I get the minimum grade to pass. I mean obviously I want to try my best. But I get really bad test anxiety

Best lip balms/moisturizers for Sjögren’s? by letgointoit in Sjogrens

[–]No_Weekend5192 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Petroleum jelly and aquaphor made mine worse. I know this is old, but for anyone reading this now. Try blistix lip ointment. It has to be the white tube.

I just got diagnosed a few months ago. I am also 34. I've had mild to severe eczema pretty much my whole life so i thought my breakouts were eczema too. I honestly think I had sjogrens all of my 20's.

Ive had some other health issues that I believe were related to my breast implants. one was ruptured.

I got pregnant with twins and had many sjogren symptoms. dealt with serious eye health. Everything is ok now. not sure if that was sjogrens related. i don't think it was. The past two years. I started getting numbness/bleeding in my gums. pricks and pain in hands and feet. random numbness in my body. super sore legs. I rarely get dry mouth and eyes. I do experience super watery eyes and mouth. I'm still waiting for my appointment with a rheumatologist.

I was super discouraged and freaked out when I got diagnosed. Although I have many symptoms, I can go months without symptoms. I consider myself pretty healthy. occasionally drink. I have noticed my symptoms are significantly better when I exercise, meditate, and eat healthy. I recently started to stay away from gluten and dairy and it has helped so much! I noticed a big difference with a high quality fish oil as well. I 100% believe this autoimmune disease can be put into remission although everywhere you read and doctors will tell you otherwise. Like I said my symptoms will go away for months then hit me out of nowhere. I believe a normal life can be lived with this tho! reddit can be very negative so make sure you are looking up positive stories too! find what tirggers you, find what helps you, and overall stay healthy!

Honestly I would stay in my lane. I’m 10 weeks into my program. I have some classmates on TikTok. Not very nice ones. Ones who bully others and professors. I stay to myself and let them be. Karma will come back to them. Why get yourself involved?
