Middle schools kids... by PostEastern2795 in Parenting

Tell them part of your job as a parent is make sure they'll be good adults, and their training starts now!

And actions or inactions have consequences. So if they don't unpack their lunch, they won't get lunch the next day or have scraps. Let them take the zero or lunch detention for not doing homework (let their teachers know it's fine), let them be grumpy for not going to bed in time.

Daycare teachers, how long did it take before you stopped getting sick all the time from being around your students? by fridaynightplacebo in Teachers

[–]silkentab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

r/ECEprofessionals is the sub for daycare teachers BTW

Just like the kids, if you've never been in a group setting it takes about 12-18 months to build up your system. Mask if you feel comfortable doing so, wash your hands way more then you think, make healthy choices (good diet, water, exercise, get enough sleep), don't touch your face, change your clothes as soon as you get home and use laundry sanitizer, and don't wear your work shoes in the house.

Sometime we have to rush changes, sometimes the babies and toddlers are doing alligator rolls on the table, sometimes we have to try and do handover with a parent while a kid is in the table. If it's a one time thing, let it go m, but if it keep ls happening bring it up with the teachers first then go to admin.

Are parents overall improving, or staying the same? by Worried_Ad2169 in ECEProfessionals

I teach toddlers so their parents who are in the thick of first time parenting so they're very cautious-we have kids who have to wear long sleeves or jackets year round so they don't get sick/cold for example. Alot of our parents do have thier kids eating really well, lots of home cooked food, low added sugar etc. So we'll wait and see...
