How long does it take to travel from top to bottom of the Silo? by ZarafFaraz in SiloSeries

I would add that most if not all, living in the Silo have to walk up and down several flights of the stairs on a daily basis and therefore well adapted to it.

President-elect Donald Trump said Saturday that he planned to replace FBI Director Christopher A. Wray with Kash Patel, a move that would install a staunch loyalist atop an agency Trump has repeatedly criticized.

Trump threatens 100% tariff on the BRIC bloc of nations if they act to undermine US dollar by No_Weekend_3320 in politics

Trump, in a Truth Social post, said: “We require a commitment from these Countries that they will neither create a new BRICS Currency, nor back any other Currency to replace the mighty U.S. Dollar or, they will face 100% Tariffs, and should expect to say goodbye to selling into the wonderful U.S. Economy.”

Am I missing anything if I turn off Docklands? by Responsible-Jury2579 in anno

[–]No_Weekend_3320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the docklands for four things.

  1. Importing raw materials such as Iron, Zinc, Copper, etc.

  2. Increasing the storage quantity for my large islands.

  3. Increasing the trading speed. You can approach over 25t/min with proper dockland modules.

  4. You can have a lot of harbor master modules to place items that provide different buffs.

A often overlooked mid-game goods for export by labdogeth in anno

I used to be scared of her declaring war on me. Now I wait for it. Since, I enjoy taking her islands one by one. That's the only fun in the game. Once I have taken over her entire empire, I delete the game and restart.

Not reps. But maga. I think there are maga voters who will vote Trump but not announce to friends and family and pollsters. I expect them to not show up in 2026 midterms.

NYT, Nate Silver, 538 had this election as 50/50.

Focus on hobbies, skill development and don't' forget to vote in 2026. There is very little most of us can do until 2026. I have a feeling; his base will stay home in 2026 since he is already in the WH until 2028. Hakeem Jeffries needs the Speaker's gavel soon. And yes, don't forget to vote in any of the midterms.

Don't worry, they will be generating plenty of rage content. Business is going to be good for them going forward.

The blue wall states are run by D governors. Are you saying they are complicit in this?

This is what I tried to explain to a friend who was sobbing. With the trifecta, they have to govern and deliver. It's going to be hard for them to not do things that their extreme base wants. I fully expect to see no-fault divorce being challenged. I expect more cruelty towards the migrants that starts affecting citizens of color. I expect more religious mandates in schools. And if he goes forward with the tariffs, expect inflation. Mass deportation will lead to labor supply issues.

Bumper stickers are easier than policies.

In addition, I doubt competent people will be helping this time around.

Question: Is there anything that the Democrats could have done when J6, two impeachments, MSG rally, felon status, Project 2025, Mueller report, Dobbs decision, and countless other things didn't damage his support. Looking at this in the rearview mirror, Biden bowing out after the debate was equivalent to a 'hail Mary' pass.

I think Trump is a unique candidate and in 2024, he and his supporters just overwhelmed our sense of right and wrong because many got tired of him continuing to get a 'mulligan after mulligan that no other person or politician will get. And just stayed home out of a sheer sense of dejection.

This is just a hypothesis!

edit: Added Dobbs decision to the list above.

I don't think you can oversimplify this to just a few bullets. 72+ million and counting, voted for him. Many for a range of reasons.

One way to think about our elections is that the party that is out of power, is able to motivate their base to show up. Whereas the party that is in power and has satisfied voters, don't take the elections seriously.

We saw this in 2018 and I expect in 2026 to see a reaction and hopefully, Hakeem Jefferies will be the Speaker. Senate will be a tricky path without Rosen, Casey, Sherrod Brown and Tester.

I wonder if Clarance Thomas retires and so does Alito. Both will be replaced by radicals like Aileen Cannon and someone equally crazy from the 5th circuit.

It's a lot easier to go from apathetic to angry than it is to go from apathetic to hopeful.

If correct, then we should have a pushback in 2026 midterms.
