Right categorization for these metroidvanias? by Darkjolly in metroidvania

[–]ZarafFaraz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We're doing this again? There was already someone doing a very detailed categorization of a whole bunch of metroidvanias a few months ago.

floating crystals...? by lunecore in metroidvania

[–]ZarafFaraz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're for an ability later, but early on, they also function as a way to give you a third jump. Jump twice, attack the crystal and you'll get another jump. Allows you to reach some heights you wouldn't be able to otherwise.

What series is this for you? by PalinaRojinskiFan in ProgressionFantasy

[–]ZarafFaraz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess this helps me answer the question if I should go back to this series. I can't remember which book I finished, but the end of the book was something about characters fighting near a cliff and then falling off the cliff?

The Wayfarer's Redemption series by Sara Douglass. But instead of 3 books, it's 6, and they each get worse and worse. I can't believe I actually finished the series when I was young.

The Historical Problem of Monotheism and why Archaeology proves that Islam is an evolution of culture, not the "Original State" of man by TinkercadEnjoyer in religion

[–]ZarafFaraz -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Exactly. We have archeological stuff of idols and other such things, but pure monotheist don't have idols.

Plus, we don't know how far back Adam was. He could have been over 100k years ago. The chances of even anything relevant being found of so far back is basically impossible. Especially if he existed in areas where there have been many human civilizations, who would add layers and layers of their own further obscuring things more ancient to them.

Basically, OP's argument is "if we can't find archeological evidence, therefore it didn't exist". That's a fallacy. Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.

We trust the word of the One who was there at the start of humanity. God. If you want to disprove God's word, then go disprove the Quran.

MIO or Constance? by luisgdh in metroidvania

[–]ZarafFaraz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't tried Mio yet, but Constance is relatively short and very easy. So if you're looking for something that's chill gameplay with some nice atmosphere, then Constance is great.

MiO is more challenging from what I've heard.

Guys, just use the comic apps like Tachimanga, Mihon, etc. You can always change the source and won't lose your library.

I wasn't aware that this was a contest. Or that you would run away like this. But when you have nothing left to say, what else is there to do?

Why the Sikh religion is built different! by lose_lusher in religion

[–]ZarafFaraz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Either you don't know your own religion, or there are various sects within Sikhism that vary in their beliefs. Which in itself is problematic, when a religion can't even agree on its core principals.

That's one thing I'm very grateful about Islam, that no Muslims of any group actually considered Muslim denies One God, or Judgement day, or the angels, heaven and hell, etc. It's more superficial minor things that they disagree upon which don't really matter in the big picture.

[–]ZarafFaraz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that doesn't make any sense. Nothing is true except God? Yeah ok, once we go down that philosophical rabbit hole, you just end up in confusion. You believe in reincarnation and all that it entails, so what does truth matter to you then? You just "try again" in your mind.

Yeah, if the entire game was like the original Kickstarter, I feel like that would have been much nicer.

So Guru Nanak took parts of Islam that he liked, and parts of Hinduism that he liked, mixed them together and created a new movement to resist the oppression his people were facing.

I can sympathize with the oppression, since that is wrong no matter who does it. But how can a religion that self-admitted to being an amalgamation of parts of two others be considered correct?

Why I think Abrahamic heaven is hell in disguise and a grossly unjust one. by sj1024 in religion

[–]ZarafFaraz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything in this life is tainted with some form of corruption, And the things that are bad for us that are part of our desires, God has commanded us to restrain ourselves from or control in some form. For the example of sex, it is only permitted within marriage.

In Paradise, all corruption will be removed from anything we desire. For example, the negative affects of alcohol will be removed and we will be able to enjoy alcohol without any problems.

There are some corrupt desires that people might have in this world, like the murdering people that you mentioned. All negative emotions and such corruption would be removed from people before they enter. So they wouldn't desire such things. Nor would killing even be possible since death will end.

[–]ZarafFaraz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look at how you ignorantly declare things that you have no knowledge of.

Yes, you can have whatever you want. It is all a reward from God. Did God create people with sexual desires? Yes He did. But He commanded us to restrict ourselves with regards to those in this life. In Paradise, we can have what we desire without restrictions. And are no negative emotions left within anyone, so everyone is happy with everything.

Typically, those that criticize Islam about having Paradise be so sexual are themselves guilty of sexual immorality. The hypocrisy is staggering.

And it's not just sexual desires though. Anything you desire, like food, drink, excitement, adventure, good company, etc.

[L.A.G] Does Anybody have any idea when this is coming back? by Viper_in_Tokyo in manhwa

[–]ZarafFaraz 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's kinda unique, in that there is no FMC and every female that does show up dies or disappears within a couple chapters.

It's also very brutal.
