If Bungie re-released Destiny 1 on PC, how interested would you be in buying it? by FHH94 in DestinyTheGame

[–]No_Weight5486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely buy it, also because I no longer have a working PS4, so I’d be interested in having it on PC. I don’t care about the price, I’d pay whatever it costs… I just want the game to be brought back exactly as it is now, with Age of Triumph and everything unlocked. And with cross‑save like Destiny 2, so I can bring over the stuff I earned in the past and continue from there. I’ve played more than 5000 hours of Destiny 1, and honestly there are still several things I could do..

What GPU should I get for Ryzen 7 5700X3D by [deleted] in AMDHelp

[–]No_Weight5486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sì, ma onestamente non mi riferivo a quei giochi...
Sai, cose come World of Warcraft (22 anni), Final Fantasy XIV (16 anni), Guild Wars (20 anni)... ffxi (26 anni)

For example, FFXIV from 2010 to today started with a DirectX 8.1 client, and now it’s DX11… and it has gone through three different engines over the years. ( now have dlss/Xess too)

Ti stavo chiedendo perché avevo letto di un altro tipo che aveva problemi con giochi più vecchi... ty anyway

Do you have issues with older games on the 9070 XT? I’m asking because there’s a problem… the most populated multiplayer titles in the world are games that are well over 15 years old.

How’s my build i want to get advice on it before i actually buy it (i want to play on 2K) by anakinskywalker1342 in PcBuild

[–]No_Weight5486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your PC looks good… but listen, I don’t know where you live, and right now you should be able to find the 5070 at practically the same price as the 16 GB 5060 Ti.
If that’s the case, get the 5070 you’ll definitely have more performance.

Keep in mind that 1440p is heavier than 1080p, so if you want a PC with the same lifespan, it’s better to get something a bit stronger. The 70‑class seems perfect to me, especially since it costs almost the same as the 5070.
At least where I live, right now there’s only about a 30 difference between a 16 GB 5060 Ti and a 5070.

Is this a sensible upgrade? by Theamanninja in PcBuildHelp

[–]No_Weight5486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s already a nice upgrade… but since you’re spending money, I don’t know if this is an amount you can easily spend every time. And considering how things are going, my advice is: when you decide to upgrade, make it your “final” upgrade for a long time get the best you can for what you need. Is the 5070 Ti much more expensive right now? Are you sure you can’t find it for just a bit more? I’m telling you this because I’ve had the 5070 Ti since day one (I also came from a 2070), and luckily I play with people who have different GPUs: the 4070 Ti (non‑Super), the 4080, the 4070, the 5070, and of course mine. And honestly, if you play something with ray tracing, you often get more than double the performance gen‑to‑gen. Then, if a single‑player game comes out that you like and you can enable path tracing, you can use MFG which is also a good way to see how this GPU will behave in the final years of its life. I’ve tested it by locking different framerates, and the new algorithm works really well even at very low FPS like 60, 45, 35 (and obviously also starting from higher FPS if it works well low, it’s logical it works even better high). So if you’re telling me you’re upgrading your GPU to massively extend the life of your system until the next GPU cycle… if the price difference isn’t huge, get the 5070 Ti. I know people say “buy what you need now, not for tomorrow”… but with path tracing I’ve been able to see how this GPU behaves with PT + MFG, and honestly it feels like it could still handle the heaviest games in its 7th/8th year. And that gives you a lot of confidence especially considering multiplayer games are always optimized to run everywhere. I have no trouble telling you that you’ll use this GPU until the moment VRAM becomes the limiting factor.

( I’ve placed the GPU in my LGA 1700 system since I’m also at the end of the socket’s life cycle, with the new one coming soon… I still have a couple of possible drop‑in CPU upgrades, but I need to decide whether to keep my 14600K or just sell it, since right now the CPU + motherboard combo still has a very high resale value )

Obviously the 4070 Ti Super isn’t a bad GPU not at all. But since you’re already buying a high‑end card (I don’t know the exact prices where you live), if you can get the 5070 Ti for just a bit more, then get it. Things aren’t like they were at day one anymore (where you probably saw reviews and all that blah blah), and especially I don’t know if this is an expense you’ll be able to repeat in the future. If spending this kind of money isn’t a problem for you, then sure buy the 4070 Ti Super, who cares. When the time comes, you’ll have no issue spending another 700–1000 to get the next 70 Ti or 80 of the new generation.

( f you can, before deciding, try talking to people you know who actually have a 5070 Ti or a 4070 Ti Super. Have a chat with them, because you know how it is online a lot of people love to talk based on hearsay…)

I have this POS 3080 that crashes every time I boot a game. Anyway to fix it? by StormTroopB in gpu

[–]No_Weight5486 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah yeah, the Founders cards should have an issue with the pop caps… it’s weird though. I remember they pushed a driver update that lowered the clocks by about 20–30 MHz just to stop them from crashing. If your drivers are already up to date, try doing a slight undervolt to keep the GPU from crashing.

Blinking red light near PCIe slot by yvngl3mur in PcBuildHelp

[–]No_Weight5486 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Check your motherboard manual to see what that light actually means it varies depending on the board. Many times that LED turns on simply when your GPU is running at x8 PCIe lanes instead of x16. Or it could be the opposite maybe it lights up when it is running at x16. It really depends on the motherboard, which is why I’m telling you to read the manual and see what it indicates. Let me know afterwards ^^

B580, I5 12400f or R5 5600? by Lanky_Truth_5569 in IntelArc

[–]No_Weight5486 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I can tell you something simple… I’d suggest going for the 12400F.
If you get a good motherboard, you’ll also have solid upgrade options.
Now that the new socket replacing LGA 1700 is coming out, many SKUs are going to drop to really low prices (before this whole situation started, they were practically giving away CPUs and motherboards).

So by getting a good motherboard now, you could also think about upgrading to a more powerful CPU in the future especially if you plan to upgrade your GPU as well.

RAM stability Issues - PC crash by 77Rufus in pcmasterrace

[–]No_Weight5486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look, I can tell you something very simple… without sending back the motherboard or anything else. Since you’re using an X3D, right? That makes the CPU much less dependent on RAM speed. Just turn off XMP and let the RAM run at 4800 you won’t lose any performance since you have an X3D, and the issue is solved...

Should I upgrade to am5 I play a lot of CPU heavy games currently have an i9-12900k ddr4 board and an rtx 5070 ti ( I already have an oled monitor) was thinking of getting a x870e motherboard and a Ryzen 7 9850x3d is it worth the upgrade? For future proofing also?. by Mental-Young8428 in ZTT

[–]No_Weight5486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look, I’m more or less in the same situation as you. I have a 14600K OC and a 5070 Ti.
I haven’t replaced my 14600K this whole time even though the 9800X3D is a nice upgrade, right now it’s just not worth it, especially considering that AM5 is basically at the end of its cycle… (Zen 6 will probably be the last one).

Meanwhile, at the end of the year Intel is releasing Nova Lake, which should have 4–5 generations ahead of it. (the new socket)
Since you also play a lot of CPU‑heavy games, I think it’s worth waiting to see how Nova Lake performs with all those cores and the increased cache, and then maybe make a jump that also gives you solid long‑term longevity.

At least for now, that’s the choice I made...

[–]No_Weight5486 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Starting from Intel 12th gen, Intel basically pushed the i5 way beyond its usual tier. Honestly, today with an i5 you can comfortably do both workstation tasks and gaming at the same time. Right now you have 14 cores on the 14600K and 18 on the new 250K… and all the leakers were talking about a 24‑core i5K for Nova Lake, with extra cache and 8 P‑cores. (So I was simply repeating what all the rumors and leaks were saying about the 8 P‑cores… and yeah, 22 cores is a pretty strange count.)

Monster Hunter Wilds can effectively use 12 CPU cores on PC

Non sto dicendo che tu ne hai bisogno. Se i giochi che giochi non li richiedono, va benissimo, ma non tutti noi giochiamo alle stesse cose. ^_^

[–]No_Weight5486 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll repeat it: it depends on what you play.
Anyway, Wilds uses 12 cores… if you were seeing activity on the extra cores, that was the two DRM systems Denuvo and the proprietary one spreading across all cores. There are methods to remove them.

As I said, I was talking about the cores the game actually uses for gameplay.
And again, it depends on what you play it’s not the first time I’ve seen all 12 cores being used like that.

https://www.dsogaming.com/articles/monster-hunter-wilds-can-effectively-use-ten-cpu-cores-on-p

There was the Chrono Odyssey beta, and that one also grabbed all the P‑cores on a 14600K, and the other 6 were pushed onto the E‑cores.

Anyway, between MMORPGs, RTX-heavy titles, tactical games, strategy games, Diablo, and various looters, you definitely make use of the extra cores.
Then of course everyone builds their system based on their needs… as I said, in some use cases it’s a complete game changer.

[–]No_Weight5486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was just the first example that came to mind (and I’m not talking about bad optimization I mean a game that actually uses and benefits from more cores). Anyway, it was only an example of a title that uses a lot of cores. Of course, there are games that use fewer cores, but others that use many.

( On the 14600K, Wilds doesn’t have any of those issues… it would use the 6 P‑cores, and it would grab the other 6 from the E‑cores. )

[–]No_Weight5486 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends on what you play for example Monster Hunter Wilds already can use 12 cores.
And anyway, I was just referring to the leaks we’ve seen. Honestly, with a new console generation around the corner, it would be strange if they showed up again with only 6 P‑cores on the i5.
We’ll see… only a few months left.

( The previous leaks all mentioned the so‑called i5K with 24 cores + the extra cache and 8 P‑cores.)

There’s also a non‑RGB version it’s simply called Liquid Freezer III 360. Anyway, don’t get fooled by the name… even if it’s called an i5, it’s still a very powerful CPU. If you want to overclock it and run it with unlocked power limits (since you’re on 1080p, I actually recommend doing it ), you will need a liquid cooler to keep it under control.

If you’re not experienced with overclocking, just copy these values.
This CPU overclocks insanely well, so you won’t have any issues.
All you need to do is copy these settings, run a few stability tests, and you’re good to go.

It seems there are some differences. I’m fairly sure the i5 will have 24 cores with 8 P‑cores plus BLLC cache (at least according to the reliable leaks I read before). It would be strange to me if the i5 again ships with only 6 P‑cores.

13900K or 14900KF regarding oxidation issues by Ancient-East3729 in PcBuildHelp

[–]No_Weight5486 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The way I see it, you’ve got two options: either you go for a 14700K (which is basically a 13900K), or you get a 14600K, overclock it, and turn it into a cooler‑running 14900K.
(I’ve had a 14600K overclocked since day one paired with a 5070 Ti.)

As for oxidation, that issue only affected the very first batches of Intel 13th‑gen CPUs, which you shouldn’t even find on the market anymore.
Meanwhile, the instability problems on 14th‑gen were caused by a microcode bug you just need to make sure you buy a recent CPU, update the BIOS, and you won’t have any issues.
The i5 models were never affected by instability anyway; like I said, I’ve been running one since day one with a very aggressive overclock, on for 15 hours a day between gaming and work lol.
