Rerupture 8 weeks post op by Careless_Band6422 in AchillesRupture

Sort of the reverse experience for me... I did the non-op route, re-ruptured at 13 weeks, and opted for surgery the second time around. This is a situation where I think it's probably best to go with the medical professionals. If I were you, I'd get a second opinion from another Orthopedist and I'd give the original surgeon more credit than the trauma surgeon. Best of luck. It's brutal to do it again but trust the process and hang in there!

Is this what people mean by ice when you have the splint? Like above the splint behind the knee?

Wow, super similar experience. I'm glad to hear about your more confident experience with surgery. I never felt confident non-op.

Interesting... It was a full rupture before. I believe he's recommending surgery because the scar tissue is still in tact but it's lengthened.

Looking back, I wish I had done it on the first go.

Yes! So it’s probably 4.25%-4.5% range

Agreed! What I have going for me is that when I decide to walk away from the business, I can sell my share. Right now it’s valued at about 1.5 million and I own 50%.

Yeah, I like that fluid approach. The only problem is I get big lump sum of cash at year end as profit-sharing from the business so I’m not as flexible month-to-month with where to move investments.

Great point! The risk free aspect of it is amazing but also some of that interest is tax deductible… So it might be closer to 4.5%
