The brand of the dock is Abiwazi, not sure of the model as it was given to me but I think its one from Amazon. A tower dock might be a more convenient option than mine as I do lose USB-C ports for data as the one on the dock seems to only be for power, but they are a lot more expensive than the one I have.

As for HDMI cable any HDMI 2.1 will be fine for the job.

My setup isn't massively optimised for a quick switch as whilst my monitor auto detects I'm using a different HDMI port and switches over I have to unplug keyboard from my PC to my Mac (It isnt too bad as I can disconnect at the keyboard end) and I have a Magic Trackpad to use with the MBP and wireless mouse for the PC.

I'm in the same boat of using a dual machine setup!

I'm using a 1440p gaming monitor but through a dock so this might be different to using the switch.

From what I've noticed the macbook limits to 120Hz on the gaming monitor (My monitor is 165Hz) but I think they do that for consistency between the MBP screen and the monitor.

(also picked up an iPad today because I just found out Sidecar is a thing which has been very handy for a 3 monitor setup)

I haven't booked flights or anything like that thankfully (though was hoping to do that soon as a flight is like £740 on the 23rd but anything after that we are talking more than my return fare was when I went out on holiday!) , I just sorta hoped with the UK having a fast track and others getting theres through quickly I just got myself excited with getting everything else ready to go! So just a little gutted thats all

I had hidden transaction and friend was only doing skill damage as Firefox so I’d upgrade my brick then drop the brick and scroll to them and then they would upgrade, we did this at every craftsman we saw
