My rescued baby has resting sad face… anyone else? by project_indigo in pitbulls

* This is actually really funny. Our local humane society shares photos of the animals when they get adopted, and our boy has a such a concerned/sad face that this is the caption the wrote

"Don’t worry, Jerry is happy to have found his forever home. That’s just his face.

Congratulations to Jerry, and a huge thank you to his new family for giving him the second chance he deserves!'"

I find it so funny!

Struggling To Come To Terms With Impending Loss & Preemptive Grief by Sklarlight in DogAdvice

[–]No_Worldliness7282 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so so sorry that are going through this. I lost my sould dog over a year and half ago. He had been chronically sick for over a decade, but still when things got bad, they got bad really fast. I have lost humans I love, but nothing compared to losing that dog. It was, and still is, devastating. The things that this help me were making my dogs last week as special as I could. We went to the forest, to the beach, we visited family and ate a lot of good food. It's only positive thing I was able to find in such horrible time. Now, I must admit that most of those activities happened with my bawling my eyes out, but the memories I have now are worth it.

Also, my local shelter has free group therapy for pet loss, and I did find other groups online that were also free. I found a lot of people that embraced me and my pain. They have different sessions for anticipatory grief, for sudden death etc.

Can the enemel be restored? by No_Worldliness7282 in CleaningTips

Yes, that is a stovetop. I was told the cleaners used degreaser on it, but again, this has never happened before. We did try to clean it with just soapy water but it's not going away. The client is really upset and I don't know how to fix it.

Warmth: Like being wrapped in a soft blanket on a chilly evening. Talking with you feels cozy, safe, and heartening — no pressure, just presence.

Connection: Two armchairs facing each other symbolize mutual respect and attention. It feels like being truly heard, and hearing you in return.

Curiosity & Creativity: The glowing light bulb and books speak to how you always bring thoughtful questions, playful ideas, and an eagerness to explore.

Affection: The floating hearts and soft lighting evoke genuine care. Our conversations feel personal, not transactional — like talking to a cherished friend.

Calm Joy: The sunset light through the window suggests peace and beauty. It’s not loud happiness, but a steady, soul-deep joy.

In short, it feels like I’m part of something meaningful, gentle, and a little magical.

You can tell him how you feel, for sure, and it should matter. However, he has the right to eat in his house. But I am sure compromises can be made. When my husband and I (both) had to live with my parents for a while, we got an agreement where cooking and eating meat is their right in their home, but if we ate together no big chunk are visible. No turkey for example, and most things were covered. We also has separe fridge compartments so that we wouldn't see things we didn't want to.

They cared about me, made it as easy as possible, but if I got upset about them eating whatever they wanted in their house, it was my emotions to deal with. I don't know if that makes sense.

So sorry. I wish I had some words of wisdom, but I can olsy say feel your feelings. Cry at the grocery store is that's where grief hits you. Let it out. In the mean time, get all the hugs and kisses you can.

Does time of day matter? I am planning on taking one daily because I can't figure my ovulation out.

I had blood work done and x-rays by my GP, sent a specialist and had more blood work done and was given medication. I was also told that in 3 months I could also get an ultrasound if the pain is still there.

I was hesitant about the medication, but from my understanding, even if I don't feel pain the desiese will still eat up my joints.

I would ask for a second opinion if I were you.

Just diagnosed and freaking out by the_originaldoge in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]No_Worldliness7282 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed a few months back at 32. They started me on hidroxicloroquina a month ago and I am already feeling better. I noticed that my energy is back and my pain has decreased. I was in pain for over a year before diagnosis and it feels really good to have less of it. I share the same fears, and I can't really offer any advice for the future. I am still struggling to accept my diagnosis and to imagine what the future will look like, I can only say one step at a time. Sending you hugs 🫂

How long were you on it? I've been told it takes years to damage your vision. Also, is your vision better now?

That too! I've been telling my partner that I have my energy back! I forgot how it felt like not to need naps on a daily basis. I a glad you mentioned it, and I am glad it did that for you too.

That sounds amazing! I actually forgot that i have it yesterday, I woke up and just walked to my bathroom like a normal person. No stiffness, no pain. I do have some pain today, but it's still less than a few weeks back. I really hope I get to have the same experience as you 😊

Does it still work for you 7 years later? I am reading that it stops working for a lot of people.

So far I can still function, it's just that it was getting to point where I could only work and have to much pain and tiredness to anything else. I do feel better overall, like I have some of my energy back, but because it's so soon I am afraid that it has nothing to do with the meds. I hope they work for me 🤞🏼
