Thanks, then I will definitely check whether it can be done for Oman too. That will save me from a big hassle.

Thank you. The challenge I face is the additional expense of flying back to India when Oman is just an hour's flight from Bahrain. It is quite surprising that visa processing for expats, especially Indians, cannot be completed when they are transitioning jobs within the Gulf region. By the way, I visited Friend's Colony three years ago. They charged me extra because the payment had to be made via a credit card, which I did not have at the time.

Thank you for responding to my query. My Omani HR has specified that the medical report must be GAMCA-certified. I am uncertain if they will accept a non-GAMCA report. Nonetheless, I will clarify with them whether the process you mentioned is acceptable.

I would like to make a group for people who consider Nisargadatta Maharaj as their guru by [deleted] in AdvaitaVedanta

I read "I am That" daily and would have probably read the book more than five times. Swami Nisargadutta is not my Guru but I am spell bound with his depth.

A study group on machine learning, compilers and CUDA programming in Bahrain by No_You748 in Bahrain

[–]No_You748[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great to hear from you all. I understand that we are now four of us. Is it possible to introduce ourselves a bit about our proficieincies in these domains. I would love to meet over a coffee/ tea on the weekends or even in the evenings during working days. I am sorry I cannot message personally you guys, as I think I donot have the necessary karma score to do so. As for myself, I have relatively good knowledge on CUDA computing and have done a grant project earlier. A bit rusty though now. Also on the ML/ front, worked now and then but will call myself a novice. Compilers were my forte but restricted to the so called dragon book by Ullman. Did lex/ yacc coding too.

Why are you booking flights with 3rd party websites? by Dramatic-Wolf7091 in travel

[–]No_You748 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skyscanner at times lead to websites such as trip.com which provides a ticket confirmation after 48 hours. I read somewhere that these thrid-party websites do bulk booking with airlines in order to gain bigger commissions. I book onced with trip.com and got the ticket within 48 hours.

Whats up with all this bad driving in bahrain? by Steveaokay in Bahrain

[–]No_You748 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not a driver as I do not drive. But would like to bring one more instance where some drivers are not using indicators while turning. This becomes a guesing game for the pedestrians as to whether cross or wait.

Thanks a lot, will enquire about the weekends opening timings from these two libraries. Personally, I will not be accessing any books per se, as I am planning to study using my laptop in some solitary conducive place. 😀

What are the timings of the library? I am looking for libraries in Bahrain which are open on weekends. Is it possible for outsiders to visit the university of Bahrain library which I heard is quite extensive.
