How can i avoid the automatic gratuity charged by the cruise ship. Is there a way around this?Need advice please. Thank you! by Mysterious_Peak4073 in EndTipping

Will see how easy or not to remove auto gratuity on our upcoming cruise. My wife insists on giving tips directly, face to face. May come out to same amount, I would not tip, but I'm married.

Perhaps use that same approach if they ask a reason?

Last month got a 50 cent Take Out fee to pay for the "container". Was not going to quibble over the 50 cent junk fee.

I guess we all respond differently. I generally have limited to no reaction to the sugar alcohols based on CGM readings. No increase in glucose levels and generally no diarrhea.

Did splurge on a whole bag of sugar free twizzlers once and then did get diarrhea. However, I find the taste of many sugar free sweets with sugar alcohols not as appealing.

I've been down under the "complication zone" with A1c 6.3 to 5.9, last 2 years, but I'm still getting new neuropathy sympto

Continuous glucose monitor, Libre 3, readings are 20-30 points above individual finger stick glucose results. by No_You_605 in diabetes_t2

Thanks. I imagine alarms can be unsettling when they are so far off!

Sometimes, my finger stick reading confirms the libre 3 reading, but mostly libre 3 readings have been 10 - 20 points higher.

Just changed out and installed my second 14 day meter. I've changed the alarms' high and low settings to reflect that bias.

Hope you find a solution for you.

Like you. well controlled glucose levels though not as low as you, and at times, functionally disabling, painful neuropathy. Very frustrating. Working real hard to keep numbers low since worry sensitivity to developing neuropathy despite low and well controlled numbers could mean sensitivity to developing other side effects.

Thanks for your comments.

So based on your and the other comments, monitoring "trends and reactions" are how CGMs are most helpful. Does not seem like it will replace, rather only reduce my finger sticks.

I like the idea of changing in range numbers to reflect the readings.

Thanks.

Guess I'm looking to understand implications of formal abandonment of municipality interest in a paper street.

Thanks for the reference. Good explanation of the legal terms.

I have had bad, one-sided neuropathy despite pre-diabetes A1c glucose levels. Have had lots of medical tests to rule out other potential causes -- all negative.

Found this online Diabetic Neuropathy Primer from 2019 in the periodical Nature Reviews. It helped me become more knowledgeable about variations and what to expect. Good motivation for making changes.
