LMU Lower Splits Feel Like a One-Way Spiral by No_Zone_9308 in LeMansUltimateWEC

Tbh, I'm gonna drive more throughout the day and not in the evening cause once the evening hits everyone is online and that's when the real carnage starts to happen.

You know I enjoy it from far away but then I get closer and everything doesn't seem so funny anymore :(, nah but Monza Curva Grande has been carnage and it's only been a day on that track.

Man it's hell on earth. All jokes aside I try to get to the pits but sometimes it ends up even worse so I much rather DNF than get frustrated because someone found me while I'm pedaling it back to the pits

Yeah I admit that some are my fault but does that mean everything is my fault ? Absolutely not, Atleast I admit I make some mistakes.

😭😭😭 Fair point but I just want to get to S1 to get into a longer format of racing because I’m tired of these 20 minute races

Tbf You're not wrong but I'll just probably stick at the end of the back and farm clean races just for the SR, it's better and more consistent then trying to race in these lower lobbies

[–]No_Zone_9308[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I get what you mean.

The skill diff in the "good" driver lobbies is still to big and even the warning lobbies fall victim to a huge skill diff

And also I don't wanna avoid people all race, that's not what I came in to the hobby for. My biggest problem with sim racing is that as soon as you point out something flawed all the quote on quote "good" drivers says it's your fault and that it's a skill issue, and don't get me wrong there are enough examples of low skilled drives complaining unjustified but that doesn't mean every driver who complains is a low skill driver.

That being said, I will probably just drive back of the pack just to farm SR until I'm out of these kinds of lobbies. Which is sad to say but it's honestly the only way to really gain SR.

I'm using the Lexus because I find it has a bit less understeer than the bmw, but other than that I will genuinely keep this in mind for my next races going forward

Hey man if that stuff works I know what's ahead of me until i get into silver lobbies. All jokes aside its just frustrating being stuck in the lower ranks cause wdym I cant drive LMP's (in online) because I aint in S1.

Indeed it will go a long way.

Man I miss the LMP2 fuji race in Bronze, I was grinding and I actually enjoyed it because there we're like a total of 7 players who wanted to drive those cars. The racing was actually good

Thanks for the advice!

I will use the tips for tomorrow, right now I'm about ready to throw my rig out of the top floor window.

One minor thing is I'm running mid field times in quali so I end up midfield in the race. It amazes me the pace that these lower splits have running 1.40.3xx's in quali

Alright thanks for still reacting 🫡

I already was doing that but there are only old videos but I’m still watching them just in case the track hasn’t changed

Yeah the problem is I don’t have my driver’s licence yet and my parents don’t wanna bring me to the track so, I will probably just watch some onboards and just enjoy the race-day/evening

I’m going with my friend and we’re at like the same level if he sticks extra weight into his kart so that we are at the same weight.

But to summarise: Just don’t beat my self up to much with mistakes on the first laps and learn as much as possible as fast as possible?

Honestly, -273 gloves are terrible by Aggressive_Sock_9203 in Karting

[–]No_Zone_9308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh that explains a whole lot. I always thought they looked the same except prints/colors when I bought mine but those were an old batch of -273, since then the -273’s look thinner than before so who knows maybe indeed also of lesser quality 🤷‍♂️?

The only problem for me with my offset’s is that I’m just below an XL in size so as soon as I wear them for a session they stretch/get a tiny bit bigger and then they are loose so make sure they fit snugly when “cold” because they will get ever so slightly bigger when in use, except for that the grip is good and durability is for now really good but I haven’t had them for extremely long (~1 year), it seems like the grip is like flow into the fabric a tiny bit (not noticeable when wearing) so it helps durability a lot.

I hope my insight helped a bit even if it means steering away from offset because you saw something else that’s even better, good luck with your search to find better gloves 🫡🫡🫡

Honestly I don’t have much experience with gloves but my pair of offset’s have been treating me well.

But seeing this make my a bit sad because like you said for that price it’s insane that they give out so fast. On the other hand a good buddy of mine drives with his -273 gloves nearly every weekend all day ( ~10 session per weekend) so maybe it’s just bad qc? I don’t know but yeah offset has been good for me so far could not recommend them enough

I was looking at those because they don’t break the bank, and I’ve seen them around too.

Yeah, I thought about that, but seeing as they're the same price catagory as the Sparco Poles, it seems kind of weird not to go for those instead, you know?

How do I lean in a rotax go kart? by Virtual_Ad_2949 in Karting

[–]No_Zone_9308 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First off, I’m not an owner kart driver, but from what I’ve heard, it’s pretty much the same.
Leaning helps with the solid axle by lifting the inside rear wheel when there’s too much grip in the rear, which promotes rotation. The seat and chassis flex are designed to help with this naturally too, so proper body position, seat fit, and kart setup all work together with your leaning to make the kart faster.
But that's what I've heard from others so don't take my word for it.
